The transitions from makima's hands to people getting exploded were so cruel!! I rarely feel horrified by anime powers even if they are to an Omni god scale but the portrayal of makima's was too detailed and shocking. His name is Tatsuki Fujimoto. He used to draw a lot since he was a child. When he was in junior high school, he made a magazine in his head and serialized about seven of his own manga there. When the series in his head reached the final episode, he was moved and almost cried. When he was attending art college, there was an incident where his bicycle was turned upside down, and the female student of the perpetrator said, "I turned your bike upside down hahaha!" When he is told that, he has felt happy. He is so masochist that he likes high-pressure and unreasonable women.

what I like is that, even here, we see her consistently characterized. she still uses a knife, she still lashes out when threatened, and it still freaks her out. if anything, I think she's a realistic depiction of the things anxiety can enable in a person, as well as the disabling effects. she'll freak out to the point where she can't think of anything but the most obvious solutions in the case of the eternity devil, but she'll also fight like her life depends on it, because it does. and even her relative success in that fight doesn't make her feel like she just experienced a victory... she still wants to quit. even if she's capable when she's at her wits' end... it still feels like she's in a cruel situation. I think the big thing I'm taking away from this event is that people aren't meant to exist in this sustained state of fear. even Himeno wasn't handling it well. she was so afraid of Aki dying before her, and having to live with her grief over him, that she would literally rather go first. she'd rather accept that her time was up than watch him die in front of her. he's the last straw for her... this time she decided it was her turn not to make it, because the alternative was worse. and like... is that really an _admirable_ display of mental fortitude in the end? obviously it's good that Himeno was strong, but she was also broken down by this, and now there's nothing left of her. and all of this feels incredibly counter intuitive when you consider how devils are explained to exist as a manifestation of collective fear in this world. how can this organization call themselves "public safety" when they routinely terrorize and break the people who work for them this badly? they all know they're disposable, now more than ever. and Makima (probably?) didn't know that all of this was about to go down the way it did... right? but then... she's had that ability in her back pocket for how long? and how did she know those names? how did she know that killing the people attached to those names would do anything for this situation? how preventable could this have been if she had acted on her information earlier? perhaps not even with her power, but with regular preemptive intervention? it almost makes it feel like she wanted this event to happen.

That last line Makima said, that the food in Tokyo is "to die" for. Think about it for a second, about what Denji, Power, Himeno, and Aki were doing when they got attacked. Did Makima cause the attack, or does she have some form of precognition? It was hinted at by the other character who resigned, so she definitely knew about the attack before it happened. Also, this ended up making her lead the entire special division, so there's a good motive as well.

Himeno once praised Kobeni, saying she's "got the moves, but is timid". And now we see those moves. The power and control displayed by Makima here was so intensely terrifying, showing us exactly what she was doing while at the same time giving us no clue of what the fuck she was doing. And now she's basically taken over the entirety of the devil hunters division. Glasses guy got it right, and this whole episode shows us the truth of what Himeno's mentor said in that flashback a while back: In this job, you gotta have a few screws lose, or you'll die. Kobeni's histeric laughter as she sat with Denji, not a single scratch on her, shows this so well. I fucking love this show

R.I.P Arai, you saved a girl when you knew you couldn't save yourself. He had great potential and I'm sad we didn't get to see him in full combat, but I like how they gave him a bunch of acknowledgement as a character even if he was going to be disposed of. I really liked how he was sort of the comforting character, being there to try calm Kobeni and be there for Denji in the bathroom. He will be missed... ANYWAY D'yall see the crazy batsh!t that Makima cause?(obviously yes) I haven't read the manga, I tend to only be able to get into either the manga or the anime when it comes to series, so I don't know how Makimas ability works. Can she do more? Does she really require her targets names? Is the blindfold there for other reasons then to conceal her power? Speaking of Power, where did she go? Guess I'mma find out next week.

I was waiting for your reaction because I always enjoy yours most. It is true Chainsaw Man doesn't really slow down after this per se. Fujimoto is one crazy author and all of his works have merit and he's only 29 I believe. Fire Punch before this was a little messier storywise. But Chainsaw Man is a rollercoaster and we've really yet to hit a peak in the story telling and action it has to offer. I've read a lot of manga and seen a lot of anime and this is my favorite manga and getting to the top of my animie list because of how amazing MAPPA is doing in the adaptation. It only gets better so buy the ticket and take the ride.

Makima's Powers are essentially like the Voodoo Doll technique. With this technique, you right the first and last name of a person on a piece of paper and stick it on a Doll, then the person whose name is written on the paper get's linked to the Doll, then whatever injury is inflicted onto the Doll is inflicted on the person whose name is written on it. In Makima's case, the Convicts are the dolls and them saying the names are the pieces of Paper with the person's name written on it, which ultimately links the person whose name is said by the Convicts to said Convicts that said their names.

I always love how you apreciate characters (aside of mobs, and weird mobs lol). This time especially on Katana Man. Your reaction is exactly how I reacted to him, how deep and sexy his voice is. That's mostly how I found my favorites, and how seiyuu (voice actors) fans watching anime hahah. One of the chainsaw man author's manga - Fire punch, is a story about an immortal guy who lives in a starving little town and feeds the people his body. Thdn, he gets set on fire that never stops until it burns it's target, but because he's immortal he never stops burning. It takes him like a year just to start moving. His work is truly crazy. Tatsuki fujimoto the author just tweeted that kobeni was originally suppose to use arai as shield to protect herself but he didn't have to time to do it so he gave up lol
