I have a drill I use for mud mixing all the time and the chuck is always a sore point. In my 41 years I have never heard someone recommend tightening around the whole circumference of the chuck but that makes perfect sense! I'm definitely adding that to my bag of tricks. Thanks a bunch buddy.

I no this is an old video and im no porter, to find tdc just push down on piston with a tool till it dont rotate any more, thats bdc same thing

my numbers so far are compression 140, squish .065 without the base gasket, exhaust opens at 106 ATDC. Does this seem right?
@crazyfeller5704
@crazyfeller5704 3 жыл бұрын
Your numbers are dead on for a clone I was working on. My squish was right there as well with the base gasket deleted. Just be sure the bottom of your piston is not venting the case(free port). With the piston at tdc, look and see if you can view into the case(bottom of the exhaust port). If no gap, you are good. If you see a gap, will probably need to use a base gasket.

Is the compression before or after base gasket delete?
@jeffstover8528

@@Smittyschainsaws The compression was taken before the base gasket was removed

hey smitty I just watching your previous video in the series I'm pretty sure he's so it came with a walbro carburetor also besides the zamma and Tilson I'm almost positive the newest one I just got has a walbro carburetor I'm going to double-check and get back to you

I am fairly certain you are correct. I have never had one but I do believe that they did come with one at some point in time.

Well done sir- good tutorial! That is pretty darn good exhaust timing stock. Did you ever drop a piston in the cylinder to see if you could cut the squish a bit more without free porting? Just curious. That squish is so reminiscent of my roper.

To be honest! The more I run the less I feel it is necessary. I never measured it yet.

i'm totally confused when you go 77 vs 77, what is the stopping point on the motor that you are stopping at? you must be referencing something

it looks like to me i could just start at 77, then rotate to 77 if i wanted to there has to be a reference point you are stopping at someplace to force you to be on or off the mark.
@tuomas2789
@tuomas2789 2 жыл бұрын
i think the reference point is the piston hitting the pen and if it hits an equal number both ways it means the tdc will be at 0°
@tuomas2789
@tuomas2789 2 жыл бұрын
and depending on the size of pen or anything you use, your reference could be 30° both ways or 130°.

The Tinman builds a rowdy Homelite. I shipped him a saw before Christmas. He should be unboxing it this week. You said in a previous video that you sell the occasional saw on Ebay. Whats your seller name? I would buy a saw you've looked over but I get spooked to buy from someone I dont know unless its a parts saw.
