Chainsaw Storage! Awesome Saw Tree!

Chainsaw storage is definitely never a space saver. The chainsaws either sit on the floor, hang from the ceiling or go on a shelf. I decided that I wanted a cleaner and COOLER way to store my chainsaws. You definitely need a game plan before you start boring holes. I ended up with 8 slots with room to grow on the back side. Im pretty happy with it. Just need to let it dry out! The moisture will definitely rust your bar and chain, so let the log dry out!

That is an awesome idea to store chainsaws! I'm glad you didn't get hit by kickback making those bore cuts. Gotta be super careful with the kickback zone.

Yeah I hate the vertical bore cuts. Horizontal bores are much safer

It took a year to dry out and it’s a safe haven for bugs in the garage. Gotta spray it often

Tis the season for piles of wood worms and the smell of mixed fuel. Nice little collection there Devin! I like the tree. It's a nice big one. I made a similar one, but a tad smaller around and cedar. Maybe a tad taller, which makes things difficult for my setup. Sap was an issue for a while I learned that the hard way. Even though I let mine dry out for over 6 months after plunging it. Should have known. Anyway... I've got all of mine (that I wanted displayed) plunged bar downward, and the saws are all spaced fairly evenly. I ran my saws from small up top to large on bottom. And then plunged a hole straight down on top for the little m18 fuel. It looks like a dang saw Christmas tree. I wish I would have done a more random setup like that one you did. Just looks more..... (natural dare I say?) And I need a bigger diameter log. The 36 inch bar on the 661 pokes out the other side enough I was able to put a slightly cut down scabbard on it. Which I guess kinda looks cool. My bigger saws mostly sport a Tsumura reduced weight bar. It's a bit of a shame to cover those nice looking bars. Maybe I'll do a few separate logs, staggered in height next time and change it up. There is too much saw in my "Christmas tree." I think anyway Thanks for the content! I love saws and making anything bland or even weird into a creative masterpiece. 👍 Oh, and you definitely need to wait for the 500i. It's a Damn beast. Check out redbull660 on KZbin. He's had his hands on one for a while, and has ported and MM'd already. It can stay stock, imho (besides a MM) the power to weight is insane. I am getting one for sure. I still prefer my old 461 and 361 over the 462 and 362. M tronic is Cool, but they are slightly heavier and I still like to tune. Maybe an Alpha thing, idk. I follow buckin too. Hi, do you get condensation in your wood boiler when you first start up? My water jacket was just filled and on start up my fire box is condensating heavily. I'm assuming once everything is running at normal temps this will go away.

Yeah it happens on initial startup especially if the water was cold

Cool idea, and the end-result looks like a professional store display. I'm a little surprised, however, at the various safety no-no's that you prominently displayed in making this video - from the method of starting each of your saws, leaving one saw running on idle in the tree while you bored another hole with another saw, no eye protection used for the latter cuts, no face shield used at all, no safety chaps or pants worn, no gloves, for starters. Probably wise to demonstrate a little more safety mindfulness for your viewers, no?
