X-Men: Evolution is an American animated television series based on the X-Men superhero team appearing in Marvel Comics. The series takes inspiration from the early issues of the source material and follows the X-Men as teenagers rather than adults, as they learn to control their developing mutant powers and face various threats. X-Men: Evolution ran for a total of four seasons comprising 52 episodes from November 4, 2000 to October 25, 2003 on Kids' WB, which made it the third longest-running Marvel Comics animated series at the time, behind Fox Kids' X-Men and Spider-Man. The series was aired on Disney XD from June 15, 2009, to December 30, 2011.

That scene between Cyclops and Wolverine better explains there rivalry then any of the movies did. And it shows why Cyclops is the leader of the X men and not Wolverine. This is one of the best X men show for simply putting some Respect on my man Scott Summers name.

A part of me did want Charles to be gone for a longer period of time in order to see the kids face the change of status quo on their own, as well as seeing Storm, Wolverine, and Beast be the main leaders.

That juggernaut fight was storyboarded by Adam Van Wyk, who storyboarded many of the best fights in Spectacular Spider-Man (Lizard, Rhino, 2 Green Goblin fights, Kraven, Sandman, Molten Man, Silver Sable, & Hammerhead).

3:46 I still remember this nifty little utility combo of their powers. Great use of creativity and team work to improve quality of life off the battlefield. Really goes to show their powers as gifts that are a part of them instead of them just being born to be killing machines like people fear them to be. 7:40 doesn't illustrate that point, but it does show him giving his all to save innocent lives. And just how much his all is. I remember it fondly too.

Yeah, unfortunately that's going to be Wolverine's new suit for the rest of the show, the comic suit with the mask is gone. I guess it makes sense story wise since they've all been exposed now so Logan has no need to cover his face anymore, but it still sucks to see that beautiful orange and black suit never return. Also I'm pretty sure they changed it because that's the same costume he wore in the Ultimate comics that were out at the same time as the show, and of course for the Fox movie synergy.

The costume was an edict from Marvel management. They wanted one "Unified" Wolverine design to use in merchandising, so that suit was designed to be used in Evolution, Ultimate X-Men, and the 616 (main Marvel Universe) comics. The edict was largely ignored in Grant Morrison's "New X-Men," and the solo book was mainly doing stories without Wolverine in costume at the time, but when he appeared in Uncanny X-Men, X-Treme X-Men, or other Marvel books at the time, that was the suit he wore. It worked well in the Ultimate Universe (which is why it's remembered in that context now), but it was a clear downgrade from the black and orange Evolution suit and the New X-Men leather jacket costume.

5:00 my only criticism of this episode. Canon in training is that there was an understanding from logan and the kids that logan would go to shield and tell them about Trask since they both worked there. That's why there was no hard feelings by the xmen after logan left them. He was going to anyway, the military just pushed up the time table. HOWEVER I see next to no excuse WHY this couldn't have been made clearer. Another Canon in training is that Jean doesn't have enough power to effect juggernaut. But that ALSO should've been made clearer. Other than that this is my my 2nd favorite episode of the series.

I agree it’s a shame that there’s not more episodes in all; 52 across 4 seasons is a pretty solid number in all (certainly more than poor “Spectacular SM” for instance), but it really feels like the show *just* got really amazing here. Apparently Season 4 almost got 22 rather than just 9 episodes (and/or Season 5 would’ve been 13 if it existed), but sadly that was not to be…
