I did very well in high school chemistry but I ended up choose electrical engineering for university. Now I almost forget the very basics of chemistry

But chemistry especially organic chemistry, from what I remember it’s important to understand instead of memorize

Yes that's very true, there is some memorization but compared to other life sciences organic chem benefits much more from a solid understanding
