Skidoo Lewis Sometimes small changes are what make live performances so much more exciting!
@TheJajajajaja219 жыл бұрын
Skidoo Lewis they've been using little hints of death metal more and more (george is doing lows, albeit infrequently, and they're doing more chugging riffs in both their live songs and their recorded one, for adult swim.) i expect their next record to be a lot like that outro; full of heaviness with bursts of the post-rock/shoegaze stuff they've always done.
@zarucarsha9 жыл бұрын
Jacob Dunn I'm going to be hopeful and call that subtle hint of heaviness "Weakling influence" and not death metal. Fingers crossed.
@TheJajajajaja219 жыл бұрын
zarucarsha in interviews they had discussed listening to a lot of death metal in their own free time, and that was the background they came from before deafheaven. i think it's a lot more obvious in the song they did for adult swim.

Only a few bands have entered my life and have captivated me with power and awe-inspiring artistry. Genesis. The Cure. Killing Joke. Radiohead. Tool. Deafhaven. A few others, maybe. "But it's not black metal!." Well, yeah, obviously. Deal with the fact that Deafhaven attract people from outside black metal, because their compositions are incredible.

I remember they gave 2 concerts in Mexico with MONO. I had not listened to Deafheaven before. So, MONO played first and the whole crowd were uncertain about it, did the really play first? Many left the place, those who stayed, witnessed one hell of a show. Since that very day I listen Deafheaven every single day.

i use to shoot dope to some of these songs which was amazing! pure fucking euphoria. but i became an addict n had to struggle to get clean since i didn't wanna die like some of my friends or worse become a shell or a ghost, well i changed my mind, but anyway I've been clean going on 4 years now n i was worried some of these songs might trigger me but...luckely not. ppl don't realize u can use drugs to access parts of your mind or to have certian experiences, but u don't need them to attain those levels or states of being or thinking. this proves it absolutely. i enjoy this song just as much now if not more bcuz heroin does help u reach higher levels os sensation n feeling but it kind of numbs u as well. this music is not pure bliss, its equal parts pain n pleasure, rage n joy, sorrow n bliss...so u need to feel pain to enjoy it all properly the way its meant to. goodluck to anyone else put there battling addiction. use music, it is one of the greatest tools we have at our disposal for transformation n altering ourselves n our environment n reality overall.

delnuggets quoted from Wikipedia on shoegaze: "The British music press-particularly NME and Melody Maker-named this style "shoegazing" because the musicians in these bands stood still during live performances in a detached, introspective, non-confrontational state, hence the idea that they were gazing at their shoes."
