First round picks: 2019, Mayock took Clelin Ferrell fourth overall, running back Josh Jacobs 24th, and safety Johnathan Abram 27th. In 2020, he took wide receiver Henry Ruggs 12th and cornerback Damon Arnette 19th. In 2021, Leatherwood was taken 17th. One of those is still on the team. Second round picks: Trayvon Mullen and Trevon Moehrig. Third round picks: Lynn Bowden Jr., Bryan Edwards,Tanner Muse, Malcolm Koonce and Divine Deablo. You want to reconsider your post?

Mike had the best draft coverage on NFL Network I have ever seen. I really miss his takes and analysis, especially during draft day. On one hand I am happy that he is spending time with loved ones, on the other hand, I really would love to see Mike back in the game, even if it is just as a guest on podcasts like this and the Rich Eisen Show. Great stuff, one of my favorite football draft minds ever and I would love to see him talking about my Lions. Chris, you should do something that I do not see too often, get two guests on at the same time for a round table. Maybe get Mayock on here with MCDC and have them both talk about their roots since they both go back to that legendary Giants brain trust.

They weren't going anywhere with Carr. Biggest throw of his career in a playoff game and he tosses it short of the end zone into triple coverage and gets picked. It was another predetermined throw that wasn't there, but he did it anyway. Everyone blames the defense, but it was a chore for Carr to put up 3 TDs -- A major chore. That is not franchise QB material. It's bargain bin game manager material, but he didn't have a bargain bin price

You don’t downgrade for “my guy “ when “my guy” is a lesser player. This draft was filled of “my guy” crap. The Mayer move up is understandable but the move up for a backup quarterback was asinine. These morons think they’re gonna hit on every pick, where they should have just used all 11 picks for the defense & OL to increase their chances of hitting on players

On that play Carr's 2 best receivers Waller and Renfrow were running decoy routes 4yrds short of the endzone in a futile attempt to draw the defense away from Zay who was running a hook route in the endzone. It was a bad playcall and design by a bad OC in Greg Olson. Carr had nowhere else to go with the ball. You don't know football.

I was happy to hear Mike Say that Gruden had the last say. I never knew for certain until now, but always suspected that the majority if not all of the Raiders’ disastrous draft picks and roster moves were Gruden’s fault. I’ve never seen someone so inept at talent evaluation. I remember getting so annoyed listening to him bang the drum for Johnny Manziel every single pick from 1-22 during the 2014 draft.

Enjoyed the interview. I think Mayock did a pretty good job as GM considering the structure with Gruden and the fact that the Raiders were a poverty franchise. That Ferrell pick was tough considering our needs. I can see the thought process. To me the Alex Leatherwood pick hurts the most. Win some, lose some. Ruggs was a fantastic player and I think we could have gone pretty far if he had not blown up his life.

I would like to hear his opinion on why not Christian Wilkins over Cleilin Ferrel since they knew D-line was an issue. I mean Christian had a dominant performance in the national championship game that absolutely stimied Alabama's run game. Not only that but his ability to do the splits as a 315 pound man showed special levels of flexibility and athleticism.

Mike got a raw deal from Vegas. He's a great football man. I truly believe he would've done a great job particularly as he gained more experience. His "misses" weren't all his fault by any means. Ruggs was going to be a great one and Tom Cable( inexplicable re-hire) insisted on Leatherwood in the first. The brass even said they were laying themselves on the line with that pick.....

Love the Long family and Mayock. Mayock got players from first round to UDFA. Football, good character players. He was the best GM since Wolff. Crosby, Jacob's, Renfrow, Moreau, Ingold, Mullen, Andre James. Never in Raider history have we acquired that many quality players in a draft. With Bisaccia we would have been a superbowl contender in 22/23.

On the topic of knowing if rookie is the guy or not....Chris Cooley said it takes around 2 weeks before they know if a player is stud or not. Famous story is that Heath Shuler was drafted in Washington an they knew by the end of the first week.....crazy.

The NFL screwed the raiders in 2021 with gruden emails raiders were 3-1 with the NFL leading passing offense we were definitely a threat to the chiefs until gruden and Ruggs happened
