He originally had a 501 for his coaching, but it's that good he has started using it in his own fishing at times, especially when you're only fishing upto 13m, you won't notice loads of difference plus they will stand upto some serious abuse!

They are both primarily designed for modern commercial fishing, but when bagging big weights like this at short range, sections are going to get knocked around and dropped so if you have a pole like this in the bag then it makes sense to use that :)
