Challenge Anneka Revisited - Wadebridge, Cornwall

Broadcast on ITV "This Morning" on August 15th 2017 Anneka Rice's revisits her initial challenge set by Di Dingle and her mum which was to construct a pedestrian bridge over the River Camel connecting the town of Wadebridge with the village of Egloshayle.

Oh I loved challenge Anneka. I'm not surprised that the producers originally said no, but it's brilliant that they eventually went "alright then" and did it!

Challenge Anneka,was such a fantastic programme,I used to always look forward to watching it,on Saturday evenings,in the late 80s up to the mid 90s !! I understand Channel 5 is relaunching the programme,this year-looking forward to it !!

It was around 2017 when I e-mailed ITV asking if they would consider launching a new series of Challenge Anneka, I said the world could do with some of the good the series brought to the communities. I was told "No, we do not currently find any reason to bring Challenge back as it is no longer in the public eye". What a stupid answer I thought. Nothing is in the public eye until you MAKE it be so. Luckily for us, Channel 5 sees some worth in it!

I well remember Challenge Anneka and the theme tune, which was in F major, then G major. I was just twenty one at the time. When the revisit occurred,, I was forty six!

Well, bear in mind the passage of time - 25 years later. I was just a fresh faced 21 year old when the original programme came out, a more mature 46 with the revisit!
