CHALLENGE - Beating Zelda Ocarina Of Time WITHOUT A SWORD? (Speedrun/Glitch Challenge)

Today we are going to look at easter eggs, secrets, mysteries, features, enemies, areas, dungeons, items, glitches, tricks and options in the legend of zelda ocarina of time because we came up with a cool challenge to beat this zelda game made by nintendo without using a sword, not even the master sword or biggoron's sword. This is one of the many zelda games just like the legend of zelda majora's mask, the legend of zelda skyward sword, the legend of zelda twilight princess, the legend of zelda a link between worlds, the legend of zelda the wind waker and even the new legend of zelda breath of the wild for the nintendo switch. There are a ton of challenges in video games like the great plateau challenge, nuzlocke, 2 player challenge, green devil, 100 mario challenge, timer challenges and a whole lot more. All of this makes it a lot harder for characters like mario, link, ganondorf, bowser, pokemons, luigi, yoshi and more. So let's find out how to beat the game without a sword!

You look how the game is coded and using the logic of the programming language and how it's coded, you try to find a path to trigger things you want to happen. Basically what they do is using what the game can achieve with the controller as a keyboard.

Fun fact about loz majoras mask! Did you know for a few weeks in the development process that sarias song and the sun song was supposed to return with new features and a cut scene of saria teaching link her song similar to Zelda teaching link the song of time! Although both were scrapped and remade newly for similar actions in game. Sarias song became the calling song for the guardians in the music file and the sun song was made into the song of double time!

I hate how the game defaults the Deku Nuts, Bombs, and Ocarina on the C-Buttons when you become an adult, not because I hate one of those items, but I always put the Ocarina on the Down-C Button, which the default setting undoes by putting the Ocarina on the Right C-Button instead of Down C-Button. Even if I equip the Bombs, Deku Nuts, and Ocarina on the C-Buttons ahead of time, it still defaults Deku Nuts on Left-C, Bombs on Down-C, and Ocarina of Right-C, no matter what C-Buttons I have them equip on. I know I could just swap the bombs and ocarina, but still.

Awesome job. B] Personally, though, I wouldn't say doing a wrong warp to the credits technically counts as "beating the game." It's understandable to see it that way, but I think of the moment at which you beat the game as when you perform the game's final piece of gameplay that initiates the ending cutscene... which you technically never do. You, through a totally separate method of gameplay, initiate a separate cutscene that takes place AFTER the actual end moment. Does that count? I could see skipping the final boss, but literally skipping the game's ending seems a bit of a stretch. Sure, you're seeing something that you're not normally supposed to see if you haven't beaten the game, but If, hypothetically, there was a special bonus room unlocked after the end credits, and you managed to clip into that room, would THAT count as beating the game? I wouldn't say so, and I don't see any critical differences between that scenario and the credits warp.

I get your point and partially agree (That's why I don't do the fastest routes in some of the runs I perform). About your question: Usually speedruns are said to be done with the last input required to reach the "The End" screen or the credits. If something like a room unlocked after this "The end" screen, then clipping into it wouldn't make you reach the game saying that you are done with the game :) Majora's Mask is a decent example, I guess. There is a way to warp into a map that is only available during the credits - but you can control link, which means that "The end" screen won't be reached - thus it doesn't count as beating the game. There is another scenario in Majora's Mask in which you warp into the credits - but due to the way cutscenes are designed in that game, you regain control on that map after some time, so again you are not reaching the "The End" screen. I do get your point tho - is beating the game reaching the end in the way it was designed? is it doing everything the way it was originally intended? It's something we can't answer and I don't think we will ever be able to answer. It's kind of like "beating" a labyrinth by climbing up the walls and just walking to the exit. The proper question that should be answered here should probably be, why that person entered the labyrinth in first place.

Fun fact: It’s possible to beat the game without even getting a sword, or so I’m pretty sure. You can do a credits warp in Fire as child with farore’s wind and Down A, meaning that you never need to go adult.

I tried thinking of a way to get farore's wind as child to work but couldn't figure anything out that would've worked. How would you do down A in volvagia's room without burning your shield? I get the ladder part, but that would require you to have deku shield equipped. I think I could've come up with something if I thought about it a little longer - but we really just wanted to get something like this started, see how people like it and if there are some fun ideas that I also have fun thinking about.

I have done a similar run in master quest. And it is possible to 100% complete master quest without swinging any swords (barring final ganon) at all. (You still need the kokiri sword to get the heart piece in the fishing pond). You don't even need any real glitches

Lelouch Vi Britiania technically yes, but the game gives you the master sword even if you don't have it. Hence why you can kill ganon with deku sticks (through storeing jumpslash damage and isg)
