There are online resources that can help with housebreaking issues. Sounds like you might want to look at a couple of them to get a feel for Jet's behavioral problems--they can always be trained out of him, it just takes time, and positive reinforcement, though there are times when you need to put your foot down. From my personal experiences with training dogs as lovable house pets, the first thing you may be forced to do with a repeat _pee-fender_ is rub their nose in it, and say "No!" very firmly. They know it is their smell when you do this, and they'll remember being the cause even if it is hours later. Dogs don't remember events throughout the day quite like we do, so catching them at this sooner rather than later helps with the reinforcement factor of the housebreaking lessons. When they learn to communicate to you about their needs (scenario: "Do you need to go potty?") your dog should know the word you use associated with going out, and give you an honest answer about it. A well trained dog won't pee in a living space unless they've been left alone for longer than 5 hours, or they're under some form of stress they aren't able to communicate. After this, it comes down to personality, and frankly most dogs are willing to be raised right, you just gotta instill good habits with them for them to avoid forming bad habits.
