So far, from what I've seen, ASOL actually doesn't seem broken. He has a clear strength and clear weakness (gets fucking gutted by any hard CC and range but rivals Anivia with waveclear and battlefield control with his AOE). His damage seems fair and respectable and has clear counterplay. Spikes mid game and thrives late game (if it ever goes that far, but there still seems a way to shut him down so he won't be as bullshit as the other crazy scaling champs). This honestly seems like a healthier rework compared to others.

I feel like mobile champs that can get out of his E and R range quickly and maneuver around his Q (since it takes a bit for ASol to turn while using it) would be more of a problem. against someone like ziggs or xerath, this asol has fairly strong engage with his W + R combo and those champs tend to be too immobile to escape the CC and ASol’s burst combo is now pretty strong. Early game bullies are also probably an issue because his dmg is so weak in those stages. Love the rework though, they really have a lot more places where the player gets to feel cool between E executes, W resets, and massive Rs.

Fun fact: I've been testing with him, and if you swiftly press Q for an instant, will deal less than 10 damage, spend less than 15 mana and won't get the cooldown. And what with that? Well, you can spam tear proc with it, which is just crazy. It will surely be fixed, but just try to level 1 tear, and you'll be at 360 just as item cooldown allows lol

There are so many times when people just try running away from ASol because Q forces him to be stationary and ASol can’t move his E or cast another one after it’s been placed. rylais seems like it’d help a lot for both of those problems. I had a blast with Electrocute + Ludens Rylais Cosmic drive build. As soon as you get Rylais, your WQ starts to become really hard to dodge with careful choice of flight direction. I also maxed E first and got 250 stardust by 15 minutes, you do not really need levels in Q - lost chapter and blasting give it enough punch.

Something I feel would be a welcome change when they tweak A-sol a bit is that his Q can't be cancelled by using W, so that in situations where you're stationary you could relocate yourself and still be using Q at the same time and vice versa. ... you guys needa read the abilities. First few points should go E not q, and rush large ap early. Like 3 or 4 amp tomes get 150 or so ap before other items and you can ignore laning phase and be able to farm stardust and save your q for 1v1s. Honestly rylais and rod look great for a sol. So much sustain and your E turns into great zoning cc.

Ryalai's on E won't do anything and you should only put points in E first if the opponent outranges you. If you put points in E at first and then face someone like Talon midlane then you're just screwed because Q won't do enough damage for you to fight back. New asol is like Vlad where you need to ks to be any sort of help. There is no need to save Q because it's like a 1 sec cooldown lmao. rushing amp tones won't help because the problem isn't the mana it's the fact anybody can run away from you without W. Ryalai's will still be helpful because of Q. I'd say you go for crown vs assassins and rod vs bruisers or tanks. Riftmaker also seems like a good item. Honestly anything except for Rocketbelt should work.

He reminds me of veigar or Kayle. He's pretty easy to bully early on, but he puts games on a timer. The longer the game goes, the more dangerous he gets. It'd be a rough game to start but could have a Nasus top, Kindred jungle, Asol mid, Senna Bot, Veigar Support and run a full infinite stacking team. I love the tear, RoA, Archangels on him. He doesn't really need much ability haste but the extra durability goes a long way.

New Asol has been pretty broken from the couple games I've played him. By that I mean he feels good to play, but a lot of mages need 10 kills or 20 minutes of excellent farm to feel good to play and Asol has it baseline. He loads in feeling like most mages do when they have completed mythic but before they get Rabadon's. Mana and the limited channel time on his Q are the biggest issues early, but with his waveclear it's not a huge issue. His damage is very high, and it's sustained which is the biggest thing. Tanks actually have to respect it or they'll get melted down and executed by the black hole very fast. Since his Q is constant mana drain RoA and Seraph's Embrace are constant healing when paired with it; Rylai's Crystal Scepter makes your black hole REALLY hard to escape by walking as well. Furthermore, by a combination of these items, it's easy to reach 3700 hp + healing while maintaining insane damage. You can win quite a lot of fights by just holding Q down since you have enough hp not to get bursted and it's rare for another pick to beat you in a straight damage fight if your breath is landing. He's got waveclear, he's got infinite scaling, he's got roams, he's got kill resets, he's got big dps, he synergizes very well with the AP/tank items, his ult can get bigger than the entire drag pit on impact in a half-decent game and hit half the map when empowered. He's pretty damn good once you get over the early game; I expect him to get hit with more nerfs in the future until he also takes 8000 gold to feel like a champion.

@PekinWoof I figured out the stardust thing on camps (and for that matter minions)! It's a little weird, but black hole gives you all the stardust when it ends. Not the moment things die in it. That explains the weird delays. You do get stardust from camps with it.

This is another roa tear champ. His numbers are so high and they scale with stardust that you dont need a ton of damage modifiers just get the raw tankiness and stats. Round it off with a void. Im thinking roa, archangels, rylais, void, zhonya/rab/banshee and boots/morello/cosmic. Just farming stardust gives your abilities a ton of scaling to where i dont see you needing a ton of ap like ryze and kassadin. Just need a few secs to do your combos cuz dps wise very few can compete.

ive seen people use him with conqueror and spamming Q for an instant prock. it makes him far more difficult to kill and is a nice mechanic to work around his bad early game. Ithink ASOL will be bestin a coordinated team with a lot of CC to keep opponents inside his execute.

Man I may start playing league back again. This looks insanely fun!! I hope the "Nerf A.Sol doesn't become unironic." I don't care what others say.... he doesn't look broken. Sure, he is a late game menace but he also has weak points that makes it fair: 1. Can't move while casting Q only. W with Q solves that issue but he can move only in a straight line during that time, so it's predictable. The entire shinnanigan is over if he gets CCed. Also, that maneuver looks mechanically demanding. 2. Sure he has infinite scaling, but so does Veigar, Nasus, Senna etc. Someone's gotta nerf those champions too if this is to be nerfed. Also, a couple of suggestions if I may. Everfrost in the right situation might be really good to hold enemies in place when Sol doesn't have ult for more Q damage. Hextech Rocketbelt might be good too, if he has some mechanic like Akali. By that I mean using that might help him stop and change direction mid flight. Plus, a free dash never hurts. Feels like a lore accurate Aurelion Sol in gameplay but still fair inside rift. Riot finally did a decent job!

This rework of Asol should be played like Anivia where you burn and slow people down because there's no point in playing him by bursting people and going into the fray. The best you could do is to scale by chilling in the early game then be annoying and reaching power spikes during mid game so you could hurt people on late game. Playing for the team is crucial so going in before any engaging allies is a really stupid thing to do ( yes Pekin, I'm side-eyeing what you did in 24:42 really hard). Still, great video Pekin!

Before this changes Asol was fun because of his unique playstyle, moving around the fights. But now is just another straigthforward mage, just wait until the right moment to go in, throw everything and get out or die. It is stronger, not broken, but at the cost of being too similar to other mages. The startdust is just another number stackin, it do not promotes any particular kind of play style. In theory you could move and uses your Q to poke around, but it feels cluncky because you have to aim the Q all the time, so if you have to change direction you would miss the target, it ends up being use in a single direction each time, as we saw in the video. In the persuit of greatness they fail to do fun.

I have been playing him for the last 3 days and here is what I know that you should know too so far. 1- early game he sucks and I mean HE SUCKS. Unless you straight up counter your enemy you have to play defensive for all the laning phase unless your opponent messes up he is a late game carry. He doesnt have the same problem as Kayle and Nasus however. They need to farm for 20 mins to get viable while yes farming is the most efficient way to gain stacks aurelion can gain stacks trough fighting opponents as well so he doesnt fall behind on them when he isnt farming. 2- his W is one of the best escape tools. It travels a fairly long distance and is fast. One thing people seem to not know is that his w wont get cancelled unless he is dissplaced. Taking damage wont stop you so its a good tool to escape ganks early and chase opponents late. 3- His Q is kinda bad on its own. For ranged champs spacing is everything but Aurelion Q requires him to root himself in place to get its damage off unless you use his W. and his W only travels in a straight line with no way to change directions other than canceling the ability. So even tho it looks like a simple ability you need to be smart with how and where you use it and if you use it wrongly you are an open target. 4- His mana usage is really high thanks to his Q eating up to 65 mana per second. So early game you shouldnt try to poke your enemy with your q but instead focus on killing minnions with Q and E to get stacks. His Q deals its fulll damage to the first target it hits and deals 50% splash damage to nearby targets so its really good at clearing waves that are grouped together with his E. 5- If you choose the inspiration as main or secondary runetree take minnion dematerialiser and use it on the canon minnions inside his E. They are hard to kill unless you blow your entire E + full duration Q on them wich will eat away 1/3 of your mana early on so its best to guarantee it. 6- His E Doesnt need to execute the target to get the stardust stacks the target only has to die within its range, doesnt matter if the tower kills the minnion or your jungler smites the dragon/baron as long as they are in range of the E you'll get its stacks. 7- Remember his Strong R isnt permanent. After unlocking the ability you need to get 75 stacks to upgrade it and once you use the upgraded version its reset and you need another 75 stacks to use it. So even tho it does look broken its not readily available and you will only able to throw it out 2 or 3 times in a normal game

How good is the scaling on the E? Considering how difficult stardust is to stack early, but also how powerful it is, I wonder if going 2-3 points into E early might be the play? You lose trading power, but your early game is shit anyways, so better to just E the wave and avoid the enemy. Probably keeps you safer AND nets you more stardust before midgame.

I’m a noob, have a few hours in the game and I was wondering how an Aurelion Sol Jungle could work, with Q and E you can clear fast the fields, and with W you can do ganks as Zac taking the enemy by surprise, also the ulti could be useful in ganks, the w could be also used for invading jungle, in my opinion in jungle gameplay the stardust farming could be faster and easier. What do you guys think?

What do you think about Ghost on Aurelion? His W is faster with Ghost and it also resets on kills and since his Q has at least a 2 second CD anyways you can Q until they're out of range Ghost towards them and then Q again like a slow motion adc kiting. There were a lot of roams and kills that game that Ghost could've gotten I think. . . Well maybe not a lot but more than Ignite.

That's probably the much more stable build that you'll have to use often in high elo, or maybe just mana mythic and seraph's for easier lanes.

@@nfzeta128 his E range is 920 plus the orb size. He is longer range than xerath base line. He is only risky if you force Q damage.

@@eon2330 E doesn't do much for damage or clear early and even later once you can dodge the stun you can burst him. Xerath range matters more because that's a lot of dmg along with a strong slow at that range.

But also consider: Everfrost to lock champs down in the center of your E and in your Q stream.

@@nfzeta128 e gains 5 per tick per rank. Its your aoe wave clear tool. Maxing Q first is like maxing darius W first. Yeah technically in an all in 1v1 the laser is better, but the damage on the E is massive when you max it and rush about 80 ap. All minions die to it and in teamfights it is increadibly strong. You spend less mana. The base damage also goes up per stardust so factor that in. Its around 25+ bonus per rank. Similar to morgana except his is also the cc where hers can be walked out of easily. Rylais if bought early should slow people every tick of damage while the rell ult style pulls them in. This makes it overpoweringly oppressive. Its also easier to farm minions and stardust on champions when your aoe is maxed. By level 5 3 points in E, you can clear all but cannons. By level 9 with 5 with ap you can do the fire and forget malz clears. A sol fire forget wave clear also means way more roam potential. Which he would be better at and stronger with the rylais E max.
