Challenges I've Been Facing In My Marriage As A Kenyan- Nigerian Wife

Navigating through in laws is the highest form of politics. My wife once told me that her elder sister's daughter wanted to stay with us. Her elder sister ended up bringing 2 of her daughters to stay with us. I had to feed them and put them in school. After confronting her severally about the deceit, instead of allowing one to stay like promised, she sent the both back. My in-laws see me as a bad person. It is very difficult to navigate through in laws but don't overplease them. You cannot make everybody happy

That is just who we are and we pride ourself on it. . We are big on respect & greeting is part of it either man, women, e.t.c. It doesn't matter if you are married or not. In Nigeria, it is more community based compared to East african countries. With your mindset, thank your God that you are not even residing in the south-west region of Nigeria or married to a Yoruba man. Maybe you would have left him and ran back to your country😅.

Hi Linda, I understand your point. I will emphasize that every region in Nigeria has its own way of life. Instead of you mentioning Nigerians, it's better to say the Edo people, which refers to Benin. Don't forget Nigeria is a big and multi-cultural country, most of what you mentioned in Benin is not known in other region. All the same I give you kudos for your patience.
