LOL! I think Antares was purposely being naughty after the jumps to teach you a lesson! He was like... "You want less control? I'll show you less control, silly human!" 😂

Antares standing there so calm while Jesse tries desperately to tack him up shows what a good boy Antares is! Also, as someone who does not have a fully functioning left arm/hand, I appreciated that Jesse started off by saying he's not making fun of anyone who may not have the use of a hand/arm 😊❤️🐴

Antares is so patient with the one-handed mischief. He was always looking back like, "What are you doing, Jesse? This doesn't feel right." It was so funny to watch. It was so sweet to see Antares with Maisie. There was one moment where she was on her back, as if she was asking for Antares to rub her belly with his lips 🤣💚🐶🐎

I love your videos. Here's an idea for a challenge for you and Matt. Our trainer had us do exercises over jumps to ensure we were balanced and relaxed. Set up 3 jumps one side of the arena, circle arena going over jumps. Tie your reins in a knot at the base of your horse's neck, circle the arena holding reins; as you approach the first jump, drop the reins and do various arm exercises while going over the jumps maintaining proper jumping position with your legs and body. Pick up reins after you complete the last jump, circle arena and repeat. Exercises over jumps include 1) hands on hips 2) simulate climbing a rope 3) simulate swimming back stroke 4) simulate swimming breaststroke. Singing while going over jumps ensures you are not holding your breath which causes your body to stiffen. Our trainer had us go over jumps with one foot out of the stirrup to make sure we were balanced. This will cause you will fall if you aren't balanced so you may want to skip this one. Arm exercises while singing over jumps would be a funny video

I've had a hemorrhagic stroke, and lost use of my right arm & Leg. I've been very creative with how I have to do things (showering, cooking, getting dressed, etc.). You've done very well figuring things out on the fly in just a short time. Well done. Antares seemed to be enjoying it too. Very cool how Maize connects with Antares. I'm impressed how you said at the beginning that you were not making fun of people who can only use one hand. 👏🏇

Anteres was being a gem, standing there and waiting for you to tack him up left handed. Now you know what it is like to be a lefty without being hurt. I speak as one of those rare lefty’s who had had to tack a horse right handed after ending up with a broken wrist. You did a very good job!

It shows that you are very atuned to your animals by the way they trust you. IT goes without saying that your dogs and horses extend the same love to each other that you model for them - you are an examplary horseman Jesse.

Mazy, the horsy girl, loves you so much, you are both so cute. Congratulations Jesse! You have imagination, humour, you are a sensitive person and an excellent rider. Your videos provide pleasant moments of laughter, emotion, pleasure and the content can also help with its educational side. Many thanks! 😀😂👏💙

😊He is such a good boy. Reminds me why ponies and children get on so well. So long as the intention is loving and it's a safe trained animal, it's surprising how a kid will get by working things out. If they want to ride, they have to figure how to get on etc. Like in your video you could have asked for help, but look how you could manage. Fun to watch.

I have a close friend who used to hop trains all over the US and he was trying to run and grab the ladder but he tripped. The ladder knocked him in the head, knocked him out and he fell and his arm went under the wheel which was......well let's just say I saw the picture of the scene and it wasn't pleasant to say the least. He had a traumatic brain injury and lost his dominant arm (with his most favorite Leaving Las Vegas tattoo sleeve which is the only part he complains about). He's doing fine now and doesn't use a prosthetic even though we went and got him one with a tattoo of the train and it's number on it. It's an above the elbow amputation so he has little left to help in some aspects. When you said "I'm really glad I have a mouth" I laughed and said "yup my friend is really glad he has a mouth too! He uses it for everything!" Way to go Jesse! You really did well! When I was 14 I was an intermediate eventer and a German big wig trainer did a clinic in my state that I attended. I wound up with no stirrups, no reins, with my right hand over my shoulder holding onto my left hand behind my back (does that make sense? Flexibility a must) and was this trainer's guinea pig while he taught everyone else. I was jumping 6 one, and two stride cavalettis and then ending with a turn off the rail over a little 2.5 foot oxor. My horse and I had trained like that in the first year I was riding her when I was 8 to strengthen my leg and seat and little did all the clinic attendees know, my 14.3h pony-horse would jump anything with just my leg and seat. Holding my hands like that behind my back was the hard part but after riding so much without reins and stirrups with my arms out to the side learning to ride, I was able to do it. I have a picture of that. It amazes me now to look at my riding pictures and to see my form. It ripped my soul out when I was told I had to stop riding due to a connective tissue disorder. I'd do anything to be around horses again. I love your channels, you and Matt. The gentle empathy you have with your animals is exactly how I grew up riding amd those years helped me train my service dog. She's brilliant now and takes excellent care of me. I love that about Antares. He realized things were weird and helped you. He's a really good horse and ever so sweet with the dog. They're super cute together.
