Himachal Pradesh was the part of Punjab till 1966. Today these areas are not part of Punjab though they speak Punjabi language (there are several dialects of Punjabi) because during census they declared Hindi as their mother tongue. Neither Punjabi muslims nor Punjabi Hindus are loyal with their mother tongue. After 1947 in West Punjab (Pakistan) Punjabi muslims deceived their mother tongue and adopted Urdu and in East Punjab (India) Punjabi Hindus deceived their mother tongue and adopted Hindi. In Himachal Pradesh they have even not given second language status to Punjabi though it is their mother tongue 😅😄😃. The Punjabi Muslims and Punjabi Hindus both have destroyed their own culture and language. The muslims of West Punjab and the Hindus of East Punjab should learn how to give respect to their mother tongue from Bangladesh. They separated from Pakistan because they (Pakistan) were trying to impose Urdu language on them.
