Nicely done man. Oh I have a second idea if you want to try a different setup. It is to mount the opener without the rail against the torsion bar and fix a gear ⚙️ sprocket same style as one on the motor where they like up and then use a simple bicycle chain . I seen people do that with garage doors with torsion springs and I assume it will work well in this type of door too. Still enjoyed it. I also have a video on my channel where I talk about garage door openers on multiple door types. It has a garage door opener as the thumbnail. Feel free to browse it and watch it. You nailed it.✌️😎👍

I'm sure that would work great, too. Just requires a lot more fabrication and some bracketry. It would be nice it one would take the time to make it right.

I very surprised the door didn't torque to one side. I had a Genie Max Force 2 HP. I have 2-10" doors. It only lifted them 6', then made a not so good noise. I then tried one door. The door torqued immediately and made that not so good noise. I'm sending Genie back.

A well balanced neutral tension and rigid tie bar are the tricks. I have 6 doors set up like this, many more than 7 years now.

@@painlesstom My tensons adjustment is set with an Allen key. I balanced them. My doors are also larger than yours. Mine are 10'x10'. I'm trying to lift 2-10' steel doors. All of these door openers say they are only for regular residential garage doors, 7-8'.

@@CHEECHMUN I came up with this setup like 7-8 years ago, since then videos have popped up of people trying to copy me. I've done double 10' doors on two of my shops, they won't open them ALL the way, but they open them fine, I don't need the full 10', but they get close to 9' which works for me. I haven't had any issue with any of them. I have 4 buildings total using this system.

I am trying g to do mine right now but it opens good but the bottom of the door flexes at the very bottom and binds against the track to I might need to mount the attaching bar up high on a point at the door that doesnt flex.

Need to bolt a 3' section of angle or square tubing to stiffen the door, or adjust the door tension so it's more neutral.
