Michael, I so appreciate how you share your process. I have begun do that - to talk to myself while painting, explaining (to myself!) my intention and process. Painting on a gray day is a challenge. I really like the second painting - the energy and vibrancy are very engaging! Love it, thanks so much.

I like your first painting a lot. I love the second painting! I hope you do more videos in the future where you limit your time to a half hour or less.

Thank You for another great plein air moment ! I am always fascinated with your painting process, so loose and no fiddling around. Very inspiring !

Both came out beautiful. Love the idea of trying to do it in 20 minutes! an 11x14 in 20 minutes!? You are the master!!!

Good morning Michael. That red was scary at first, but the whole thing turned out well. Glad to see how you handled an overcast day. There’s a lot of that here in Seattle. As usual, composition is king. Thanks for the video.

Like your use of triangles in the landscape. Counted about six, probably more. Cezanne used the triangle in many of his landscapes and especially in the paintings of Mont Sainte Victoire. Gives a certain structure to the painting. Beautiful. Thank you!

I love your process. I have been using time limits recently, and u are right about the results being better (often). Nothing can loosen the brushwork like a time limit. That composition was especially interesting. I don’t know how intentional it was but your diagonals worked so well at directing the gaze right overtop the wall of foliage, and the whole thing works well. The second one had some striking and appealing elements. I see why u set up to capture that light. I would have done just the tree on the right, but yours works- I get anxious in tight spaces lol, but I love your color as usual

I'm going to try setting a time limit next time I paint. The looseness on that second painting is amazing.

Hi Michael, Nice work on both paintings! Can you explain how you mount your panels in your floater frames? Especially the 1-3/4 deep ones. Do you use a spacer? Two sided tape? what's your way of doing it. I'll watch one of your videos if you have one. I watched your video on how to make the floater frame and use it to make my frames. It's just the mounting of the panels that Im not sure of. Thank You. Very appreciated.
@chamberlainpaintings4 күн бұрын
I use mounting tape on the shallow frames and I use pan head screws on the deeper frames.
@bethanyhenderson23926 күн бұрын
Love them both! How do you prepare the panel in order to paint over it?
@chamberlainpaintings6 күн бұрын
I scrape off thick passages with a chisel and then give the panel a brief sanding.

Terrific painting Michael! I understand fat over lean, however if I attempted to finish in one hour, I am sure I would end up with a muddy mess. 😅

@HaileyHanks6 күн бұрын
@@elevenhorses Part of what makes his videos so unique/refreshing/inspiring is because he remains true to his authentic self.. painting what he wants, wearing what he wants etc... That's something I truly respect and look up to. Unless he wants a new coat, I think all is well 😂
@chamberlainpaintings4 күн бұрын
I'm pretty sure Emma gave me this coat. I love it 🙂
