Great job with this video. You kept it simple. After 3 major hurricanes, I’m done with permanent installation. Simple, quickly deployable, and highly portable.

@JLSULev Thanks. I do mainly portable operations and like in an HOA, so this works great! Stay tuned for more ways to configure the CHA-SS25 coming soon...

On 40M 1/4 wave is ok, anything other than that Chameleon guys said you need a loading coil. So far I like this whip, I have their TDL and IMPAS 2.0. Nice Video

Thanks 😃. Have you seen the CHA LZ 60' sloper wire accessory yet? You clip it on the top and add 60' of sloper wire! chameleonantenna.com/shop-here/ols/products/cha-lz-sloper-wire-60

Thank you and great video. I have the Chameleon SS17 whip and like it. I’ll probably have to get this one sometime also. I keep mine in some 3/4 inch white pvc pipe to protect it. The pipe is cut just slightly longer than the whip to give it just a little extra room but not much to move around. And of course caps on each end. I’m guessing the SS25 would take 1 inch pipe but not sure. I got the idea from another KZbin video. I think it was K8MRD Ham Radio Tube but can’t remember for sure.

Those tripods are rock solid. I use about the same set up. 17ft whip on the beach with that tripod in 25 mph plus winds and it never tipped over and the tripod is pretty lightweight also. Great content! 73's

Thanks for the video. It wasn’t clear to me, but were you using the tuner on each band or were you adjusting the whip length to change bands?
@W6IWN_Radio2 ай бұрын
For the sweeps I was using, it fully extended with the Hybrid Micro and a counterpoise cut for each band. I tossed the longer wires in the lake. During operation, I did shorten 2 lengths on 17m to make my amp happy. Thanks for watching. 73

@@W6IWN_Radio Just to follow on with this great question - was the tuner in the system the whole time and was it tuned up for the antenna on each band ahead of time? Amazing results! Thanks, N7RLV

There is no antenna on this planet that exhibits the SWR sweeps you show. Go back and check your set-up.

This was my experience recorded on video. I was using many different counterpoise wires cut for each band (some tossed in the lake) with a 5:1 UnUn. I was quite surprised myself! The tripod is also a counterpoise... Each environment and setup are going to be different.
@nehem11e14 күн бұрын
@@amham48 I agree that there isn’t an antenna out there that will do that without a tuner, but he is using the antenna and a radio with a built in tuner. So for each frequency range shown in the video he tuned it. The tuning wasn’t shown in the video.
