Cool video.. it’s always nice to see what you can do with QRP and a damn good antenna..

Nice setup. Make that ground mount up and I bet you could sell those boogers. The section of stake above the SO239 plate will cause no trouble at all.

You can also do 20M with your current setup - just extend the CHA SS-17!

Interesting. I didn't realize that.. I'm definitely have to give that a try. That may work better than carrying my rule up J pole the tops of these mountains

The secret behind using a vertical HF antenna resides behind the fact that you’ve to have “clean” line of sight with the horizon because of the low takeoff angle of the radiating TX of a vertical. Now - if you can’t then elevate the antenna accordingly and you’ll see a HUGE improvement!if you put a CHA HYBRID MICRO under the SS17 - you’ll cover 6M to 89M without having to play with the antenna length. Yes, you’ll have little losses but if yiunstay under the recommended power level - it won’t be a problem!

@@Chameleon_Antenna sorry I had misread your first reply as saying it could do 2m..not 20m..sorry...

Can't turn the sound on right now, what's that ground spike mount?
@AK4PJ6 ай бұрын
I made it from a piece 1/8 aluminum angle stock I had.. Riveted a L bracket on it and a So239 to 3/8-24 through connector in that. It's around 14 inches long total.

@@AK4PJ thank you. Looks like a really useful solution.

Very interesting. I own the MPAS Light, like your thinking on the protection. Would a long nut 3/8th threaded onto the one you have there give you the clearance needed when hammering that stake into the soil? 73 Keith M0KLL.
