I don't know if someone has ever pointed this out, but the way Champ says "you think this is about her being a girl" is quite powerful: he doesn't really care about the fact that Waverly left him for a woman. He's upset because that woman is, job-wise, what he has failed to be. It's something personal, it's deeper than that. And this is also what makes Wynonna Earp a masterpiece of healthy representation. Also, Champ's actor really delivered even if he didn't stay for long, one must recognise that

Dom actually talks about this on a panel. I can't remember the question, but it was something about really clicking in to their characters and their Relationship...like when they really felt it. They are describing the couch scene and talking to Kat and they said "You're saying your line 'I scare you?' ...and you give me a *look*...." and Dom started to tear up talking about that specific beat of the scene. I think there is just something really special happening in that look. Not only for Nicole and Waverly, but for Dom on their journey, and between Dom and Kat as humans who are connecting and ultimately deeply influence each other.
