CHAMPADEVI Hike is one of the popular one-day hikes inside Kathmandu Valley. It can be done from different locations but here we will be sharing with you the journey from Hattiban Resort, Near Pharping. It will take around 40mins - 1hour in the public vehicle to reach the starting point of the hike which is also called Pahiro Bus Stop; you can find that in Google Maps. The hike is around 4 hours and around 13 km long as per the internet.
So the spice to this hiking route is the ending point where you can choose to end it in either Kirtipur or Chandragiri. You don't have to return back the same way so it is a hundred percent original view for you.
But we didn't do this way as we walked through the Bhasmasur Dada and returned back to Machhegaun, Chandragiri via Chhapdanda. This took extra hours for us. The problem with us was of water which finished halfway to the Champadevi which was just a couple of hours' walk from the point where we started our hike. So, for the next 4 hours, we did it without a single drop of water, climbed extreme uphill stairs, and with completely dried mouths.
If I have to talk about the view from up there, it is exceptionally good on bright and clear days. We got to see some glimpses of mountains from there. The view of the whole of Kathmandu city was so satisfying (satisfying in the sense that we hiked there in the monsoon so it is rare to get that view).
Note: Prepare yourself well with food and plenty of water, like actually plenty. There's nothing that you can get up there.
If you want to do the same hiking trail that we did then it is a must otherwise you would be suffering a lot (at least 2 bottles of water per head).
