Been a long time coming. also luigi spin celebrity cameo at 7:10 CORRECTIONS: In retrospect I should've phrased the only mario rule as "when you can play as mario, you have to" instead of "always play mario at all times" because as many of you have pointed out, I played the captain toad levels. My bad! The ground pound jump was actually in the original 3D World, I just misremembered!

Reasons I believe this video did so much better than all the others: 1. Better editing and introduction, for people who haven’t played this Mario game . 2. No cursing, more accessible 3. Not interrupting the video for promotion 4. Want to watch to the end to see what happens and it’s rewarding to see the failures (high view retention so more recommendations)

If anybody wants a more forgiving version of this, try going for 100% with the only rule being one death per character, Example: if you start the run as Mario and you die, you can't use Mario anymore. And then you have to switch to iether toad, Luigi or peach. You even get a metaphorical extra life with Rosalina in world star. Edit: I fergot to mention I also banned powerups in my run, although that's up to the player.

I'm sorry, but i can't rest until I've pointed this out: the ground pound jump was in the original 3d world. It originated from that game, in fact! They did change how it controls to match Mario Odyssey in the switch port though.

Hey! This was a great video an an interesting challenge. I found that you can get the first green star in 6-2. If you lure the bullies to the hole in the ship's floor in the corner and against the wall, (you can do this pretty easily by jumping up the wall and waiting there,) the bullies will walk off the ship, without you touching them at all (indirect) or giving you any points. This means that you can skip 8-2, which as you said has one of the hardest tricks in the challenge. I don't know if you will every try this challenge again, but if you do, this may save you a couple attempts.

You know, I can’t help but wonder. This proof of concept shows that beating Bowser is possible. But what if you hated yourself? What if you wanted to take the run to the stars anyways? The rocket’s there, after all. All you have to do is walk up to it and you reach world star. We may not be able to reach Champions Road due to our limitations, but can we reach the border? Can we beat EVERY LEVEL IN THE WHOLE GAME??? (Probably, since we only care about level clears, BUT now boss blitz is added in, which means ANOTHER showdown with Bossblob. So I feel like that’d justify taking the challenge there at least a little)

Really wish you put the entire list of rules on screen before the routing section. But it amounts to… Single player, Mario only, no power ups, no checkpoints, pacifist, deathless. End goal is seeing the credits, but I guess you could also push it to champions road. Which is why I intend to do. Since I’m not a wuss.

FYI you had another movement option. If you spin the control stick you start spinning in place, and if you jump during it you'll go higher and slightly floatier.

Yes, actually! I forgot about that while making the video but that is true. As long as I jumped on them and they didn't fall down as they don't respawn if they fall then it'd be fine
