I want to add my thanks to the uploader of these "Championship Bridge" episodes. I have now watched and enjoyed them all. It felt like going back in time and visiting a culture that has sadly vanished. In this last installment the normally sharp Peter Leventritt seemed to have a very off-day at the table that cost them the match. I would have liked to have seen Ms. Sobel paired with the likes of Howard Schenken or Edith Kemp (Freilich), who also appeared on the show, as I don't feel her special talents were really allowed to shine.

On second thought, perhaps best of all would have been for Charles Goren himself (whose favorite bridge partner was Helen Sobel) to become a player with Ms. Sobel in an episode or two, and let someone else (like Schenken) commentate for those.

For years, the only episode of Championship Bridge on KZbin was a poor quality copy of the Chico Marx episode. I'm a bridge junkie. This show has the A-list all-stars of bridge. It's like being a baseball fan and watching Babe Ruth. I don't know where you got so many clean clear copies, but I'm going to spend today watching bridge. And with luck, some day I'll get to play bridge again myself.
