Since CCS says he cannot answer on behalf of the EBRC, then there should be some form of committee hearing conducted where EBRC appears in front of MP representatives across different parties and answer these questions directly. And this should be televised as part of parliament proceedings so the public can make a judgment for themselves. At every general election, the EBRC escapes scrutiny and does not adequately explain their decision to the public. There should be more transparency and accountability so that the public can have more trust in the system!

EBRC should be carved out of ELD which is under PMO. I suggest making EBRC report to the President, because although the President also contests in PE, the President is not affected by any boundary changes, and therefore there will not be any conflict of interest arising.

LWM by far the hardest working opposition member. He may not be the most eloquent or graceful, but he definitely has that fire and iron. On another note, just always remember that this political system has been built for years to favour the pap, its a system which works for their own ministers. If you were one of them, of course you will do whatever you can to thrash the opposition to protect your golden rice bowl. Politics is never fair or "objective". If you truly believe the ministers really want to do their very best for singaporeans and nothing else, why do we need to pay them such obscenes amount of money then? Try halving their pay, every minister in the gov. Then watch and see if they're still as passionate about doing their best for singaporeans. Question is, how many more years do our people want to wait before throwing out the gov? Your good times under LKY is long over. didn't lee kuan yew already mention decades ago that the electoral boundary drawing process is specifically to give the incumbent party an edge in the GE? it is a weapon they use so that they can can maintain above 80% of seats in parliament despite only have 60% of total national votes.

In summary, LMW: It doesn't look fair. Tell them to give us a fair outcome instead of these sus shaped boundaries. CCS: I don't know how they do it. We just let them. If we tell them what to do, then it will be unfair. IMO, LMW's suggestion is fair. If we don't want gerrymandering, then EBRC should be accountable and explain why the boundaries are so weird. Give us the explanation, and we can decide who to believe. There'll be times when we don't believe, such as Halimah's presidency. Which was clearly politically motivated. But there'll be times when we are convinced, such as when PM Lee said why we should not reveal our reserves and should continue taking a prudent mindset. The more the incumbent evades, the more distrust it builds. It's an opportunity lost. The best way to stay in power is to do your job well and do it honestly.

Good question by LMW........my parents' place used to be in SMC and GRC and names were like Anson, Tiong Bahru, Radin Mas, Tanjong Pagar..........not sure in which order. Cannot answer push the blame to civil servants............... Actually the way the votes are counted, there is a possibility that redrawing boundaries most probably had taken the results from smaller district (can be written down during vote counting) into consideration. Why don't LMW or someone propose that results from each SMC and GRC be pooled together and count......?
