It’s a bit better than it use to be in previous seasons. But I see the same 6 almost every battle. Gary being the most common. I like this team comp a lot, and thought of maybe using heracross in place of machamp… except the dragonite matchup is way worse

I have a 14/14/14 chandelure I recently maxed out and I was debating double moving it and I’m so glad I did. It’s not the easiest to use but I’m still climbing and it is one of my favorite Pokémon after all. I once 1v3 wiped a team of machamp excadrill metagross…. It was amazing. I wish I recorded it 😂

Chandelure gave me 200 points today. Most teams are made of one Pokemon that absolutely destroys Chandelure and two Pokemons which Chandelure can beat on its own with two shields (combo of Togekiss, Metagross, Excadrill, Mamoswine). I lead Dragonite with Snorlax and Chandelure in the back. People often don’t save their gyarados in their back so it’s usually gone when Chandelure enters the field. When Gyarados / Garchomp / Swampert is gone, I don’t need switch advantage and instead save two shields for Chandelure. The team showcased here is hard to use IMO because I struggle to save shields for Chandelure with it. Snorlax is necessary in my team as a damage sponge.

This is what happens when people can't be creative with their team comps. I NEVER purposely copied any popular team comps as I always enjoyed building my own teams. I have been fortunate enough too hit legend 3 times out of the 5 seasons ive been playing gbl. Kudos too this guy for exploiting it! Use your own teams! Be your own boss!

It’s interesting this team is working in these games. I started the cup with this and played only steel leads with kiss in the middle and waterfall gyarados in back. I mean I’m only legend rank so no big deal but annoying. I am using conkeldurr instead of champ but it just shows how lucky you can get in the game.

Although I agree with you about the lack of skill, i moreso submitted these battles just to show that running meta isnt what needs to be run, if you see an overwhelming amount of similar style teams, make a team that hard counters it, i feel like people feel the need to use teams they see content creators post but think outside the box! Hope this somewhat answers your question, i agree that this is me just hard countering teams over and over again but I still have yet to go negative in a set with the team so its clearly working haha

I'd say the skill with set 1 lies in identifying a common meta line and building a team to counter it. The battles themselves were pretty straight forward, but props to this battler for identifying a weakness in the meta and taking advantage!
