Tbh, Carl's death kinda ruined twd for me. It was pointless and a huge mistake, killing a character with great potential just for the shock factor, that's lazy writing. The guy said he wanted to give Rick a reason to do what we know he does in the comics, but boy, they could have figured something else out. I will be low-key forever pissed at this. I hope Chandler keeps on acting, he's really good

I disagree. Rick has always been the heart of the show, unlike the comics where Carl has become the focal point imo. If Kirkman killed Carl in the comics, it wouldn't make sense, but it interests me to see where Carl's death leads to in the show.

I 100% agree. I've taken a break. I'll watch the rest of this season later on. For now I just can't watch it knowing it would have been a way better outcome than to kill off Carl. I'm a bit over the show at this point anyway. If Rick's the "heart" of the show, then Carl was the "hope" of the show, so to speak. It's time for TWD to wrap up. Because it seems like it doesn't matter who gets killed now... the show has lost a certain dynamic that I really enjoyed. Certain characters at this juncture are expendable. I really thought Carl was the exception.

I've temporarily stopped watching TWD! I was so damn distraught about Chandler's character's death. We were there to see Carl become a man-a leader and then the producers killed him off! I. Am. Done. Love that Chandler is upbeat and positive about his departure from the show. He, of course, will always be affiliated with the show. I really hope he's not bitter as I would be if it were me. I wish him well and hope he makes great role choices. Much success, man!

The actress who played Maggie left for another show. I don't blame her. Andrew Lincoln wanted off the show since season 4. He planned to have an off around season 8. What I don't get is if Gimple knew this why not kill off Rick and have Carl step up as leader?

It's good to see him handling this sudden departure as well as he is. I wish nothing but the best for him in the future... when one door closes, another opens. I will forever miss him on TWD though and will always feel it was an injustice to his character and the show to kill him off for the lame reason we were given. It didn't make sense to me at the time and it never will.

Andrew Lincoln probably saw no point to continue because Ricks’ whole life was his son. I used to love this show and I had to watch it every Sunday if I couldn’t I would get anxious now I could care less, I just watch it on demand if ever. In other words, I lost interest. I have, however is not the same. Carl was Ricks’ life, the future, his legacy, after they killed him off I didn’t see the point, and I definitely lost interest after Rick left. I like Michone, Daryl, Maggie and Carol but for me without Rick is just another ordinary show.
