Remaking a movie from its original version speaks volumes to how good the original version was. But people keep comparing remakes with the originals or other remakes. The movie producers are not just making a ditto version of the movie. If that was the case they could've just dubbed the original into the regional language. When a movie is remade, many changes are brought about to cater to the targeted audience. Manichithrathazhu was really good and many non-malayalis appreciate it too. Chandramukhi was primarily made for a Tamil audience and it worked like a charm. I guess the upside as well as down side of Keralites is that they watch movies and tv shows in almost all popular languages. I watched Chandramukhi, Manichitrathazhu & Bhool Bhulaiyya with my friends from different cultural backgrounds. Each movie had a different effect on them even though they're all remakes of one.

Ya from original only remakers get an idea to make the output in a better way , that same goes with the actors , mohanlal sir acting had given an idea to rajni sir acting similarly for shobana mam and jyothika mam. I am not in favor of anyone, Simple logic! movie is just meant for entertainment . But our ppl take it very seriously and criticize the actors like anything... Why can't they appreciate the pros of the movie when they only talk about the cons. Please do not compare this with Shobana's malayalam version which is definitely original and classic. We must learn to appreciate corollary, flavors and variants. This is great performance and that's fab class apart. Still Vidya Balan's Hindi and Soundharya's Kannada versions were also great! Those who are trying to be so funny and disrespectful, the target audience of this movie i.e. Tamil and Telugu mainly - we enjoyed it to the core and we could play this scene 1000 times and enjoy it, admire her performance. This has been one of the most favorite and iconic scenes of this century. It's all about we liked it or not- we liked it. rendezvous59 well technology and directing skills were obviously different if we compare both the era's, light effects wasn't much advanced and popular in the 90's, Shobhana did it naturally and effortlessly because she is a professional and excellent in dancing, but Jyothika had to put a lot of efforts doing this which must be respected...and about the light effects...they had to do it because it was definitely to scare the audience 😊
