This is a review of my beautiful Chanel Boy Bag in the new medium / large size in black lambskin with gold hardware. This beauty was my first ever Chanel handbag!

I wish it has 4 feet. I don't have a boy bag because of the same reasons you mentioned. If i'm going to opt for a lambskin leather, it would have to be in light neutral colors so fine scratches are not visible in case. Thanks for the great review hun...

I have heard that the lambskin on classic flaps wears a lot better than the one on boy bags. I wonder if they actually use better quality leather or if the boxy shape of the boy bag is responsible for all the wear & tear. Calfskin and caviar are great choices for boy bags - beautiful leathers that are much more durable. I think the caviar grain on boy bags is stunning 😊❤ Xx

I don’t have a lambskin bag but I have the Chanel key holder in lambskin. It goes in and out of my pockets, rolls around in my bags and it still looks amazing! It made me less scared of lambskin and so recently I added the Trendy Cc Clutch with chain. I just uploaded my luxury handbag collection video today in case you’re interested. 😊

I'm very much interested in watching this - I love handbag collection videos so much! 😊❤ I will do mine too soon - still waiting for one more bag from my wishlist haha 😄 It's great to know that not all lambskin is as fragile as the one on my boy bag - I have heard that the lamskin on classic flaps is a lot more durable than the one on boy bags. Loved the video! I also have the Boy in the New Medium and I love it! Mine is in goatskin from 2016 and is very durable. I'm careful not to compress it though b/c I want to preserve the shape. Your Boy is gorgeous!!! TFS xox Jesse

Hi dear, I have a boy bag in the XL, black, caviar leather with GHW. I love mine. I dont baby mine at all and it wears very well. I dont baby it at all.

Hi Julia 😊❤ It is definitely possible to find this exact bag with shiny gold hardware, however it's dependent on the season. Every season, Chanel brings out different hardware variations of the Boy Bag. Mine is the classic one, black with antique gold hardware is always available. If you want shiny gold hardware, you might have to wait a little until they bring it back out or you look for one on the pre-loved market 😊 ...and yes, shiny gold hardware is more prone to scratches unfortunately - simply because they are easily visible. You don't really see any scratches on antique gold hardware. In addition, shiny gold hardware shows plating wear after a while too. But my best advice is to always go with the bag that makes your heart sing 😄❤ I hope that helps Xx

Welcome!! Exactly - aged gold hardware is the same as matte/brushed gold hardware!! Vintage Chanel bags came with real gold-plated hardware which is not the case anymore unfortunately - I hope that helps!! Xx

I did like this bag. However, I just couldn't find it worth the $6K that I paid for it and returned it. I feel it was no better than the YSL loulou that I just purchased. That bag was only $2450. I don't get it. I think at some point, people are just paying for the label. No thanks, I'd rather have that $6K in my bank account, not Chanel's

I own a chanel boy in the navy lambskin and it looks horrible... yours is still in pristine condition! You have to be so careful with the lambskin... I did not expect that, same as you x
