After much consideration I purchased the boy messenger bag in white with brushed gold chain. It’s gorgeous and I smile when I see it. I was worried about it getting dirty or color transfer but you only live once. I’m careful and only use it with light colored clothes. Because of the rounded bottom I love putting the leather part under the bag and chain part over my shoulder. Similar to you, the bag called my name when I saw it on the shelf in the boutique.

Great review! I’ve always love the edgy look of the boy bag but haven’t taken the plunge for many of the reasons you stated. I am considering getting a woc in the boy style though because I do like the look.

I bought the old medium boy bag in Heathrow airport 8 to 10 years ago and there was no queue plus it was duty-free. I cannot justify buying it at its current price though. I did some research before buying and found out that Heathrow airport chanel shops do not have classic flap and reissue bag unless it was a seasonal bag colour. But boy bag was available in Heathrow airport chanel shop so I made a rush for it. Thinking back I remember how I was hesitant to buy it due to its price but now the price is even ridiculous now!

@@AmberAshleigh35 Thank you. Mine is black with the light shiny gold hardware AND I have short hair! 😂 I don’t plan on using the bag as an every day bag… And my concern is that mine is lambskin. I have lambskin bags and they’re great… But those hard corners on the boy bag can take a beating. It’s just been my dream bag so I’m getting it regardless! You would think I had money to throw away… And I don’t!

I love my boy bagbut i do find the metal strap difficult to handle....,and when im wearing it ..always gets loose on my shoulder it took me a lot of time to get used to it....

Base shaper is totally necessary on the boy bag. Not only that it helps keep the shape, it always makes the bag a bit roomier.
