She never responds to any comments or questions so I’m going to answer a few as I’ve re-dyed many vintage Chanel bags. 1) Acétone to remove the old paint/dye. 2) Condition the leather and let sink in at least 24 hours. 3) Apply Angelus black leather dye (not paint). She SAYS die in her video but description says paint. DO NOT USE PAINT. Paint will flake and crack and chip off. Use good quality die like Angelus or Feibings Pro Dye. Only use paint if you’re going lighter because you can’t dye a lighter shade. Allow each coat to dry (2-3 coats). Allow to dry AT LEAST 24 hours then buff off until no color transfer. 4) Finish with a high quality leather finisher top coat depending on shine you want. Angelus and Feibings sell good ones. 5) Condition again and enjoy!

It was originally beige. But then it was semi-properly dyed red, and finally a new person bought it and tried dying it black but used the wrong type of paint for the material. She stripped off the paint all together and put in the appropriate dye for the material. It’s never going to last, paint/dye will never last forever. But it will take a lot of years, wear and tear, to even see it. It just needs to be taken care of properly.

The edges were done horribly; way too thick and streaky and on a pebble leather bag so it's very noticeable. They got it all over the hardware and didn't even attempt to wipe it off xD luckily the hardware is minimally scratched and removing it was easy. Id like to strip the paints and re-dye. Amazing job
