CHANEL Medium Classic Flap vs Mini Rectangular Flap (Which One Do I Recommend?) 😍

With all of the price increases with Chanel, I have been more drawn to the mini as of lately. I’ve come to realize that I am not much of a medium sized bag kind of girl. I’d much rather prefer small bags. I don’t carry around much. I just need my wallet, phone and some hand sanitizer and a lipstick/gloss. The mini is soooo cute and looks so nice dressed up and down. I really want to purchase a Chanel bag from the boutique one day and I think it’s gunna be a mini ❤ I might still want a small Chanel classic but I’d source her and get it vintage!

The mini is such a great choice! It has all the elements of a Classic flap at a better price, and can be worn crossbody more comfortably. 👍

I love L'Occitane products, and I know about the sharp corners on their hand creams. I use fabric tape or moleskin tape and wrap it around the bottom of the tube to dull those sharp corners. It also saves me, when I'm blindly digging around in my handbag, from having one of those sharp corners catch me unawares and dig under my fingernail!

I wish they made the 19 in a mini. I’m all about small bags but I like the look of the 19 more than the classic. I do think the classic is probably a better long term buy though.

I went to the boutique last sat to have a look at the dark beige mini but the quilting was not puffy enough for me and it had more grey tone then beige i want so I didn’t take it. But definitely mini rectangular is the one I would choose between mini and medium. I still love my medium though 😄 i just wish Chanel making caviar mini again

Oh yes, the new 21s dark beige looks more taupe/greyish beig, right? This one (21p) is more of a pink beige. It’s amazing how Chanel comes up with so many different shades!!

I am team classic medium flap because I am not a cross body girl at all and don’t like playing bag Tetris 🙈. Great review! I am tempted by the mini to try it out, as I only have 2 classic flaps. However am put off by the lambskin only option as for me the mini would be an everyday bag. 🤔

The mini rectangular is so great because of the crossbody and it holds what you would absolutely need. But If I could only have one then I would choose the classic because there are plenty of crossbody bags the market. Nice to have both!!

I thought you might go for the mini as your one must have, and I was right! 😃 How do you feel about the lambskin though? I really want a mini caviar but the preloved prices are way beyond ridiculous now, so I think I’ve missed the ship with that one. I thought about getting a new mini in lambskin but afraid of getting scuffs and scratches on it because I don’t want to baby the bag. I have a vintage Diana bag in lambskin, and durable as the vintage lambkin is, it still does get faint scratches easily. Yes the scratches do buff out, but honestly I don’t want to be buffing my bags after every use. People say that the modern Chanel lambskins are not as durable as the vintage lambskin, and this puts me off from getting a new mini in lambskin even more. How are your Chanel lambskin bags holding up?

For the hand cream try cut the two corners into curves, that way you don't need to use extra pouch for it.

@@threepluschelsea7460 The price increases are ridiculous! They make me not want to buy in principle. Yet, they’re so pretty... sigh. Just last year the Medium CF was $5K before 2 price increases. That’s almost a $2K hike! 😭

I am so in shock that you choosed mini rectangular xdd actually people who wants wear it like daily bag say that the compacity is not good and you must play tetris. I have been wearing both of my minis out and I definitely find them to be easier than my medium classics! I don’t carry a lot (just the essentials) and I love the single flap and crossbody length! 😉

I am already struggling to fit my phone and reading glasses in the medium (can only use soft case) let alone additional sunglasses (in summer, I need both with me) ..... but love the look of a mini rectangle ... just afraid it won't make sense for me.

Thank You for this....I just bought my first mini (rectangular) in patent so black quilted 21K. I also purchased recently (second time) a black caviar shw medium classic flap from boutique, and a preloved perfect condition black patent shw medium classic flap, and the Trendy CC 21C silver/silver. I'm with you...The mini is more versatile and more comfortable, so I am selling my two mediums, and keeping the mini for everyday and the Trendy for when I prefer something elevated with a true handle.

team mini! i completely agree without regarding that double flap. while i understand the history behinds i always thought it was annoying having to lift up two flaps. i only carry the essentials too and there is something about mini things that makes me drawn to them!
