I literally went out and bought the iPhone mini because it was the only phone that would fit in my Prada nano re-edition lol. And now I can get even smaller bags! Haha. Love your bag. So cute. Recently saw it online. I turned one down (not exactly that version a different soblack) because they tried to sell it to me chipped and I was so turned off by it. Enjoy!

haven't seen the actual reason why the 2.55 comes the way it does, folded like that. so... coco chanel herself designed it this way. this bag was the first bag by the house to be made with a chain so that it could be worn as a shoulder bag and not a clutch. therefore, she decided to add the to the practicality of the bag by making it sort of foldable to make it fit anywhere in her luggage so that it wouldn't take as much space. voilà! very interesting fact that my lovely SA once told me.

I actually read once that Karl Lagerfeld, when he joined Chanel or at some point in his career at Chanel and visited Gabrielle in her studio, found this bag (2.55) between books on her desk. The bag’s shape was completely flat and squishy because of the soft leather, and that was the moment when Karl got inspired to re-issue the 2.55 the way they are now... But again, there are multiple stories out there and all of them could be right or wrong 🤷🏻‍♀️. Nevertheless, I love this bag very much and if cash wouldn‘t be an issue I would definitely get one myself. My focus this year is towards a Rolex though 😋. The so-black is so amazing! Keep up the videos BTW, not enough of us guys reviewing them. Plus, I might make the re-issue my first Chanel after watching this video. Its super understated without the Giant CC turn-lock. Although I am torn between this bag's casual look or the Chanel Boy but Im not sure if the so-back options are easily available for both styles. Not that this bag is meant to be over-stuffed but do you find the chain to be uncomfortable if you fill the bag up?

Hey bud thanks for the kind words. You’re right it is far more understated than the CC turn lock. I find myself being able to wear this more than I did with my mini rectangle etc in the past too. I would personally go mini reissue, it resembles the original Chanel silhouette and it holds value over time better. You may have a hard time finding the exact model you want but that comes with patience! Even with ruthenium hardware the mini 255 / 255 takes the cake for me over a boy.

And to answer your question I don’t find the chain ever uncomfortable. It’s a joy to wear and use actually :). The chain is very malleable because of how many points of connection there are, vs the classic chain.

hi! can I please ask if you've had problems with the layer on the hardware peeling off? I've heard some people with the 2.55 so black hardware with peeling issue on the Turn lock!

You're right: so cute! Which chain do you prefer: this reissue oder the classic flap chain? The reissue has a squished and worn in look because apparently that is how KL found one of Coco Chanel's purses in a box and he decided to leave it as is and... reissue it. :)

Hi! Thank you! I don't find this chain gets heavy or uncomfortable as it is such a tiny and light bag. I'm sure if it were a double flap and larger and filled it would leave indentations for sure.

Hey, don't worry. It's correct that it's flat. Reissue was designed like that. Classic flap is supposed to be flat and boxy.
