I've had my Chanel Wallet on Chain (WOC) for 5 years now and I thought I'd film a video sharing my review and thoughts. This WOC is very well-loved and used, so if you are in the market to purchase one or you have one but don't know how to tie it into your life, this video is for you!
The Chanel Wallet on Chain is a great first piece or starter bag for your collection since it is so versatile.
I put the woc in my larger bags as a wallet that I can bring out when going on lunch break at work or running errands without having to take my larger handbag.

Subbie here! Great review! I had purchased my WOC 2 years ago while pregnant with my 2nd as a gift to myself before baby arrived (also my first Chanel piece) and I’m so obsessed with it! I never realized how handy it would be once my baby born as I could place it in my larger (diaper) bag or just have it cross body on me with my essentials and anything extra could go in my diaper bag. This WOC was my entry level piece... mine has the metal zippers....love it!! I've used it from formal events -clutch style...to going to the gym crossbody...and everywhere in between...versatility makes it worth the money. Also, I am over 6 feet tall and this is the only crossbody I've had in my life that hits the perfect spot due to my height. Now I'm gonna purchase that WOC SAVER...great idea...thanks!

I personally love my WOC and I'm so happy I got it before the price increases!! But with the new price and how it wears, I don't think I would consider it or but it anymore. Kristin Rogers yes I do. I. I longer have the caviar mini but I did recently get a tweed houndstooth mini (there’s an unboxing video). But I can for sure do comparison video for you once my wallet on chain comes back from repair. I took it into chanel to get the edges fixed.

Would the corners of the bag show tear and wear after wrapping around the chain strap often to shorten the length of the WOC? I always have such concern so hesitate to purchase it.

That's a pretty valid concern. I never needed to shorten the strap since I wore it mostly cross body. But even with that, I don't notice a whole lot of wear, aside from the stretching of the leather if the woc is too heavy with items.

Thank you so much! The woc and pochette Métis are two very different bag styles. However, I think a bag worth purchasing is definitely the LV Pochette Métis. It is very user friendly, spacious, can be used as an everyday bag, and can be carried top handle for a more formal look! The canvas is more casual and the leather empreinte is a little fancier!

Hello, thanks for your deep review. Did you have any problems with the button closure? On my woc (also Kaviar leather) the button on the backside of the flap startet to get loose because the leather soften. I had it for repair in Paris but they told me that is normal. Is your flap still sitting flat on the bag? Would love to hear your experience after 5 years. Thanks

Knibie hello! The flap on my woc still lays flat. I haven’t had any issues with the button closure loosening, but I’ve heard that it does happen. My friend has a woc that had that issue, but Chanel repaired it. Hope that helps!

elina lall yes it’s is very comfortable! The chain doesn’t dig in. I’ve worn it all day when travelling and walking around. It looks really good when it’s super full as well!

I wonder if the zipper is plastic because it's more durable/won't corrode. Also for the camera overheating, I think it's pretty typical that camera made for taking pictures overheat. I would think getting a camcorder would be more useful for KZbin

Girl, you are making me want to keep my WOC...! LOL. The reason I bought it was 100% because of its versatility. It looks both casual and upscale just with a strap adjustment. You are so right about that stupid tunnel not extending to the end and then causing the bowing. Mine hasn't started doing that so I didn't even realize this would happen over time. I wish Chanel saw this video so they could fix it. Of all the changes they made to the WOC, that one should have been at the top of the list. At least your WOC is in caviar, I can't even imagine how the lambskin one bows out after a few years... The good thing is when you were wearing it, I couldn't tell there was any distortion at all! Chanel unfortunately does not have an e-commerce platform where customers can shop online. All purchases have to be made via your local boutique. I'd suggest calling the boutique in New Zealand (I'm not entirely sure if there is one in New Zealand because my cousins there always buy from other countries). Perhaps Australia would ship to New Zealand?

Hey! In Canada and Europe, customers don’t get the price tag with the bag. The boutique removes it. In the US, they always include the tags.

@@therealshakeen YES! So I have 3 WOCs and a variety of other luxury handbags. Most are preloved. Save your money and you can do this yourself! I only use Saphir products because I feel like they really match the quality of the leather goods. For your repair, you will want the following Saphir products: Medaille d’Or Creme 1925 Pommadier Shoe Cream in black. Since it has been 5 years, would also just clean with a natural baby wipe. And then clean/condition with Creme Delicate or Nappa Leather Balm Medaille d’Or. I wouldn’t use something with a high wax or oil content since these are handbags, not shoes. I have read before that Hermes uses Saphir products in their restoration. I use this brand to care all my shoes and bags, restoring items myself, and they have always turned out great.
