Omg!! When you were talking about clone stories, I immediately thought of House of the Scorpion 🦂 I read that book several years ago (probs in middle school too) and it has stuck out in my mind. That’s so cool you mentioned it!

Loved this live! Agree that the garden moment was so good :O Similar-ish book suggestions: - Do You Dream of Terra-Two? by Temi Oh for character study with a sci-fi element. - Give Me Your Hand by Megan Abbott for women in STEM, a lab setting, some similar character dynamics - There is a short story in Exhalation by Ted Chiang, The Life Cycle of Software Objects, that I personally didn’t like, lol, but The Echo Wife really reminded me of it. - Dark Matter by Blake Crouch is also a sci-fi thriller, with more emphasis on the “thriller” and less emphasis on the characters, but I think it has some interesting similarities.
