I think one of the biggest problem that a beginner faces while changing chords is that their right hand /strumming hand stops while changing chords . One should try not to stop their right hand at any cost

What about the shape? Should go with triangular which have 3 tips or a regular one which has 1 tip and rounded back?

Use the triangular one first and try to learn how not to lose the grip while strumming . Strumming with a three pointed tip is easy as even if you lose the grip a bit you will have the other tip to strum with but you will learn nothing . Also in later stages learn how to strum with your fingers
