I love what 3d printing has brought to this hobby plus our world, the ability to do rapid low cost prototyping to design things is great. That said, I wish the final product looked .. finished. I mean I get the texture of that particular kind of 3d printing will naturally look like that, but man the close ups show little random pieces of plastic sticking out from some of the holes similar if you drill a hole in plastic, and overall looks like a lot of areas for algae of one kind or another to grow. I'm not saying make them with extrusion molds since I realize that would greatly increase production costs, but I dunno, put them in a tumbling vat of ceramic beads or something to smooth the edges or what not.

That's common problem of 3d printing when the printer is calibrated perfectly. The model didn't make it easy printing either.

Seems like a missed opportunity to improve flow by including internal fins to direct the flow instead of just a shell with round holes. I'm sure it won't be long before someone posts a file for printing something like this yourself if you have a 3D printer.
