Sorry to hear you met this conclusion mate, its a point I myself reached many times over the years. KZbin is certainly a tough gig, and a lot of the things you mentioned, never actually end, even once youve built an audience or found 'success'. I mean look at my own channel, my own view to sub ratio isnt much better than yours. The battle against the algorithm, is more that your your battling everyone else who is also trying to work the algorithm. I think modelling your work and videos off larger channels can work for and against a smaller channel. Some 'large' channels have fallen into a nieche theyve built over time, or jumped into pre-saturation. I kinda put myself in this basket, in that a newer channel looking for growth likely will struggle with enacting the same formula I use. The alternative to this is channels like NaturalCauses, Aron Aztek, along with a lot of other smaller ARK youtubers who put there attention into 1 large video a month, rather than the episodic dailys. Kinda blending the lets play formula, with a larger trend that has been working around the youtube community. If you do decide to give things another crack, i advise this direction 100%. It has been a similar revelation for me. I thought maybe I would grow enough to at least a side thing with this, but the market slowed and I am limited because I am not overly energetic and loud(plus I am old, lol). For now I still enjoy it, but a change in format is needed. Your channel is excellent, and you have progressed a long ways, sometimes it just takes dumb luck or lucky brake. Maybe as Ark Ascended or Ark 2 comes out we can get back on track number wise!

I came to Harv's Corner very late, but have loved your content. Completely understand why you are moving away from this. The second gaming stops being fun and starts becoming work, it's time to quit. I'm not really vocal irl, let alone online, but you've made some good stuff and I applaud your decision to get out once it's stopped being fun. Change is good. Hearing about the road that led to it breaks my heart a little. Never trap yourself in a space where you feel compelled to do things you don't enjoy. I don't ever comment on videos so here it goes. I watched a lot of your how to videos and that's how I subscribed. I hear your pain with the grind and the potential to shift gears on content creating. You're right that the gaming industry is oversaturated and also right on how difficult it is with the input vs returns. You may consider trying an avenue that I believe is both easy and not oversaturated. The amount of videos could take much less time and return much greater. I'm going to share a creator that basically summarizes the daily trends in the world. It's public news and snippets of that. This is the direction I would explore for creating content. youtube.com/@JohnPomaJr His channel is called John Talks. Please note how many views he gets and how long it takes for him to make a video. Another key is that it's really short, which I would guess means that many of his subscribers watch each video because they're only 1 minute long. It's a brilliant model for content creating. I truly wish you the best in whatever you do and hope that you don't get too discouraged. Cheers

Not going to lie, I was hoping this video would say you were just going to do regular streams, as there was no video work in that really. But it's understandable why even that's still not appealing to you. In absence of streams, honestly I'll take a podcast! I get the frustration, and the reason you stepped back. You've gotta take care of yourself first, period, fullstop, or you'll just end up slowly getting crushed under the stress. Yeah it sucks to lose the content, but if people are really that upset, who cares, it's your life to live! You don't owe them OR KZbin any more of your time. Anyway, I'm glad for the update, and while I'm sort of a lurker on Discord, I'm going to join it because I generally enjoy your content, man. Sad to see you go, I just joined recently. For what it's worth, it was Ark When You're Offline that got me to sub, so whatever you end up doing next, you may want to keep up with the shorts. Putting one out every couple days maybe to get quantity out quickly to hit a larger number of people who may eventually sub. The carreer level youtubers put out videos every day or two, and I think that's a large part of their success. If you haven't concidered it, I hope you realize you're effectively starting from 0 here. Be prepared to lose 80% of your current fanbase over the switch. They followed for gaming content after all. I hope your next thing goes better for you. I'll stick around awhile, maybe it will be something interesting.

Damn man i missed everything i wish i never quit ark and kept watching u. The good ol days were nice when i was like 11 or 12 (or so might of mixed up my dates but about 6 months before the livestream that started levitation rex shi) idk i watched u all the time i was even there when levitation rex started it was awesome now i own my own car goin on 16 and im a semi-pro race car driver so i accomplished my dream do anything that makes your day/life and thanks for starting mine… See you around good sir.

The shit part is other creators paying to ad bomb your own content and screw with the algorithm. I stream for fun and mainly low pop games. Suck at communication, so I tend not to join many discords. Will miss the Ark content. The mods helped a lot when I was newer to Ark on pc. Best of luck and never give a fuck.

PS - Don't take your older content down. You worked, spent time, and created that. Let people continue to enjoy it. Yer' mod reviews might even become more relevant with Wildcard wet sharting the bed last week. I plan to enjoy Ark and the 4 remaining maps I haven't played yet instead of handing money over to a company that I don't agree with. I wish all this didn't ruin your joy to play the game but others can and will enjoy what you've created in the past.

It seems like you looked at successful channels and copied what they were doing instead of doing what you love in a way that other people love it too.
