For a RV/ travel trailer if it can’t go down the road without falling apart it’s not built right. Recently went to Pismo Beach with one. Very nice people but they went rebought that thing like the were CSI. Roof included. 2 hrs later they were finished with a list longer than my arm. Of course it was all factory defects.

The skirting screws on my rv are always loosening up to the point where they become stripped from constantly tightening them back up. I've even replaced a few of them with pop rivets and that seems to work better. Hopefully they won't hold you responsible for that. I usually stop in Milan for fuel at the Shell station and then stop at that local Lottaburger for a bite. If you've never had one, get a lottagurger with extra green chile on it! Great burgers!!

I do have air lift 7500lb air bags with the wireless controller. I've had really good luck with them so far

I had one do the same thing because a bracket was never attached. My company said it was the manufacturer's responsibility and I haven't heard anything in several months

What decides when you use a weight distribution hitch? How are the saddles attached temporally?

Indiana transport requires them on all bumper pull campers and they really do help by spreading the weight across the combined trick and trailer giving a better ride and also makes it better on the truck keeping the truck and trailer more level. The saddles are held on by 1 bolt that tightens to the frame but the weight pulling down on them also helps

I'm hoping they don't. I don't think they will. I never used the slider and it was really heavy. I'm hooked to my first fifth wheel since i swapped it looks like I'm going to have more turning room with the stationary hitch. Just trying it out but looks like a keeper so far

I understand you obviously have a lot of experience and know others transporting RV's etc. You are very transparent about breakdowns, costs for parts, and doing your own repairs. What kind of experiences do other transporters have with Fords and Rams by comparison? What king of mileages are on these (GM included) trucks when engines / transmissions fail? Thank you again.

Honestly, i see a lot of maintenance and minor repairs but i haven't seen a lot of engine/ transmission failures in either of them as far as people i know and run with. I personally feel like the Cp4 injection pump is a ticking time bomb but i only personally know 1 person who has had one fail and they're on all 3 trucks if the year is right. I hear bad things about the 68rfe transmission in the ram but i see them with 200k and 300k that's never had an issue.

I agree especially regarding the CP4 especially on the 6.7 Fords as they can not be retrofitted with a CP3 like the LML Duramax and the 19 & 20 Rams. The 68rfe is long overdue for an update as well. I chose a 21 3500 SWR L5P but I am retired and it is for towing our 12k Grand Design Fifth Wheel. I suppose We will see if I made a good decision🤞

I tell everyone, pick a truck you like and are comfortable in. Try and make sure it's been well maintained because they all good trucks but all give issues. If you do have issues it's so much easier to make payments and pay a bill on something you like than one you weren't in love with when you bought it

I have multiple friends that have a variety of years of dodge short bed pickups and they all have non sliding hitches. My personal opinion is i would get a stationary hitch. Save weight and room and if you buy a slider i bet you never use it. If you have a megacab dodge i would suggest looking into a auto slider but with any of them you can cave a mishap.i have a friend that has a truck similar to yours that has a kurt stationary fifth wheel. Maby it'll help seeing it in the truck will help with your decision but i don't know of anyone with a dodge running a slider I hope this helps. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKqYqad3ZdKnpqM
