Fantastic video! I am working on a team of horses pulling a steam fire engine at full gallop to a call. It is based on a few classic photos using 1/12 scale Breyers. Your videos have been amazingly helpful in this project!

This is a masterpiece! You inspired me to buy a PAM body and make my own custom! Did you happen to thin out the hindquarters, or are they the same width as original PAM? 😊
@CreativeKristenTaylor
@CreativeKristenTaylor 2 жыл бұрын
I’m happy to hear you’re inspired to start a custom! Yes, I did thin the hindquarters on mine to fit the look I was trying to achieve, though you can certainly keep yours original or thin depending on the vision you have for yours.

Happy to have found this! I bought a breyer that was someone else's unfinished project and was told it just needed the tail fixing back on. I got it a few weeks ago and noticed that actually, they repositioned the legs and ears, and they dont look good 😥 I've never sculpted breyers before, only mlp figures
@CreativeKristenTaylor

Happy to hear you found this at a helpful time! 😊 I’m sure a lot of the skills you use on MLPs is going to give you a leg up with your new Breyer project. Hopefully some customizing transforms the legs and ears into something you’re happy with. And wishing you all the fun!

Would you mind sharing tips for someone who wanted to get into customizing model horses as a hobby? What would be a good jumping off point?
@CreativeKristenTaylor
@CreativeKristenTaylor 2 жыл бұрын
I would say repaints on affordable models is a good starting point (I started with Breyer Stablemates) as well as simple resculpting projects like a new mane or new tail made with epoxy putty. Pastels brushed over acrylic basecoats or oil paints I think have some of the lower learning curves for painting. Acrylics are the most accessible to buy, and I’d say their learning curve is a step up from pastels or oils because it can take a bit of practice to learn smooth blending by hand (unless airbrushing interests you, then smooth blends with acrylics is generally easier). After that, I would say my biggest tip would be to find what sparks your passion and giving that a try!

Oh shucks, I missed one then. Those were a pair of garden shears family gifted me. I’m not exactly sure what brand they are, but this pair looks very similar: www.amazon.com/dp/B000M3XY3A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_NF1D27A0KCSP0C2TC1KY?psc=1
