great tip with wrapping the paper around the blade to adjust both ceramic guides. Hadn’t thought of that. Gonna start doing that so thank you. I suggest you tension your blade by only using a torque wrench per current Woodland Mills. You obviously have a pre-2020 model and are using recommendations no longer current. If using the sleeve alignment to set your tension it actually tensions to closer to 50 ftlbs instead of the recommended 20-25 ftlbs. Over-tensioning will result in tracking issues. You were torquing pretty good on your tensioner handle, much beyond 23 ftlbs I set mine at. There is a hole on your tensioner handle for a bolt, put one in and tighten it all the down to the handle. Then use that bolt head to ONLY use a torque wrench to set your blade tension. Bet ya find sleeve alignment will no longer be aligned. Woodland Mills has since discovered that the washers & spring in that sleeve varied too much to be accurate so current/recent models did away with sleeve alignment to set blade tension and now they set blade tension by specified torque only. Thanks for the kind comments and tensioning recommendations. I purchased my mill new in 2021. I’ve tried a few different tensioning techniques and have finally settled on 2 1/2 turns after snug. However, I’ll further explore your recommendations.

Do you sharpen your blades or replace them?

I sharpen my own using a Woodland Mills sharpener. I may do a video on this soon.

@@FullCircleOzarks your story is similar to mine, met my wife in high school in Kansas City in 83, graduated 84 married right away then off to Edwards Air Force Base for 6 years. Learned the trade of plumbing (civil engineering squadron) got out in 91 and have worked for the same company ever since. We recently bought 12 acres out in the country just southwest of KC between Harrisonville Mo and Louisberg Ks and developed raw land to live on. Bought my first tractor a couple years ago and love cutting my own oak firewood. Almost time for a sawmill now. Rock hill Farms sent me over here and I subscribed right away!
