Yeah even to this day I'm extremely happy with my decision to swap the hoops. Exact sound I was wanting.

Great video. I'm looking to put a high quality die cast hoop on my Tama 14 inch snare. Great chops by the way too

I really enjoy the drier snap crack and pop of a die cast hoop. I have a 13" Tama G-Maple and if has die cast hoops and it's one of my absolute favorite go to snares. Thanks for watching!

Personally i think with the triple flange hoops with little more high tuning you will had the same result but you could anytime to change easily your tuning to not so dry sound like this!! I take a look on YT cause i'm thinking to change to diecast too but you with that video you made me change my mind and keep the triple flange.Thank you!!!

Didn't notice any real significant difference with just the batter side hoop, but once you switched out the reso hoop....yep, a ton of difference. Nice.

How many 13's do you have? I have the Joey and the Tama SLP.

Tecate Don I have 6 or 7 13" snares. I have 4 Pork Pie snares in a 13", a Tama SLP G maple, a custom stave and an OCP. I'd have to check to see if any of the others are but off top of my head 7. 13" is my favorite size right now.

Seen your car on Craigslist, why are you selling it?

I like the 13" But the couple times I've tried a 13" At a gig I've gotten negative comments, like it was just weak and didn't carry.

Try a 13” Tama SLP G Maple snare. You will INSTANTLY have every person in the house loving you. Your band might not like it so much. The 14” SLP G Maple is also a great drum just slightly lower in fundamental pitch.

That’s ridiculous, I’ve played 13” snare drums since 2003 and I’ve used them on hundreds and hundreds of gigs. Never had anyone complain unless it was too loud
