To the Swedes of KZbin, Rest assured that your international viewers an in awe. You have, undoubtedly, one of the best military bands in the world. The standard of drill, intonation and overall sound are impeccable.

They are singing and old soldier song called "Beväringsvisa" or "Conscript Soldier Song". I've tried to translate the text, see below :) It's not always so easy to translate old songs... "Away, out of the way here we come from the Yellow Guard Never embarrassed and never out of temper. Old women step aside the road for us The girls make a curtsy, it is just as it should be. The drummer drums, echo answered flam, flam flam, Sharp soldiers goes the way forwards!"

Beautiful Drill! Seems like British, but more efficient and intense! We can see the strength, the might, of an army by the intensity of its drill. Great!

What you see in this video is the Royal Swedish Army Drum Corp...a cermonial unit that now has been dismanteled. When active most of them were conscripts doing their military service for...I think...15 months. Apart from playing in the band they also had military training but music was obviously their main task.

Swedish Armed Forces have the most complete drill on the parade field. The reglementary moves seem to be an hybrid mix of British (and Canadian) and French drills. But the style and sharpness is proper to Sweden. If modern-age armies were still fighting like our ancesters did, the swedish one (as seen now) would be the most efficient by it's speed and precision.

@Nordost44 Rough translation of "Beväringsvisan" with google translator: "Away, out of the way, here we come conscript boys No embarrassment and no one from the mood Old women get on the other side ditch for us The girls curtsy, it is but as it should be The drummer taps, the echo answers tram ta-re tram tram Brave soldiers going along the road The drummer taps, the echo answers tram ta-re tram tram Brave soldiers going along the road"

After WW2 we joined an alliance and therefore we shape our military to suit that alliance. We need noone for protection. In WW1 we took care of our own borders, even when the country was smaller. You dont see foreign troops/bases or jets/ships patrolling within our borders. Even Greenland we patrol ourself eventhough we have an ally right next to it. Our troops has a lot of respect for being very profesionel and effictive in combat. And our navy has some of the most high tech ships in the world

@Nordost44 . i was a soldier in the british army for 15yrs. and i would guess they are singing, "i wish i was in the canteen having a nice cold beer" maybe not! but! i know soldiers. probably really patriotic. but they still want a beer. and deserve it.
@mortartin12 жыл бұрын
In speed perhaps but in precision, they'd find themself challenged heavily by the danish Life guard, seeing as the swedes spend approx 2 months more learning the same as a royal guardsman, meaning that a danish warfare production would be far quicker than the swedish one. ;)

Which is more than willing to deploy troops, ships or aircraft to any conflict in the world. We have proven that since the 90s now. Operation Bøllebank (Hooligan bashing) was the first encountry in the 90s. Later the Iraq war and now the horn of Africa and Afghanistan where we have the highest troop/population percentage and same goes for casualties. We also often have a warship patrolling the horn of Africa, where HDMS Absalon hold the record of capturing the most pirates.

And what would Sweden have done if our jets didnt intercept them? In this case this was an exercise, but it prove that Sweden deffently cant stand on its own 2 legs. Yes Denmark surrendered to the Germans, I understand why they did it even though I dont approve it. But that was a long time ago. Times are different, the Swedish military which used to be stronger is almost if not already on a level that match the Danish. Denmark can today stand on its own 2 legs, unlike 70 years ago.

The danish warfare production would also be more sloppy. We take 1 to 2 months more to perfect what they learn. The danish teach and then say "Do it" and usually it goes to hell.

Our pride is fine enough, we have had our rough times but are finaly back into a good period. We acted as the "Baltic police" as the 3 Baltic states has no air force. And the Russian bombers where not on their way back home according to our defense, they were just minutes from Swedish air space, but Sweden apperently had no jets ready to intercept. Denmark can take care of itself. In WW2 our government was pacifist thats why we didnt resist much in military.

Peter Schön Every regiment that are guarding the palace has "changing of the guards". Only livdragonerna has the blue uniforms but they guard the palace most days of the year. We had black uniforms when we stood at the palace. I was a stadsskytte. We are a part of Livgardet but we were 6:e skvadron with black uniforms. 4:e skvadron has the blue ones.

@ananzi1975 The ones you see here actually aren't even really soldiers. The guard you see right in front of the crowd is a soldier of the homeguard. Far from our best soldiers though probably the best homeguard in the world. Our soldiers have even outbested Navy Seals, Rangers and Marines in exercises numerous times. And those weren't our best soldiers either so before giving the Swedish Armed Forces any crap you should check up on the facts.

Usualy you intercept foreign planes before they get into your air space. They meet up just before, if they continue despite warnings, they will get shot down. Yes our government surrendered, our government was pacifist and by surrendering we allowed to keep our entire country for ourself, unlike the Netherlands and Poland who was in the Wehrmacht control and completly bombed. We failed in maintaining neutrality, yes. But times change and Denmark has become an extremly active nation which is...
