Changing Our Own Trailer Tires - With a Vintage Coats 990 Tire Machine - Seat the Bead with Ether

This is a new tool to us, a classic Coats 990 Powerman Pneumatic Tire Machine.
We've already changed the tires on our Subaru Loyale, now for some new tires on our Trailer, I'd say it was due! Probably 30 year old tires on there!

Hey Guys! Pretty scary technique. Never take your hand off the bead bar for any reason! Never! Watching you guys both put your hands into the moving parts and pinch points made me shudder. one guy only unless there is a issue with the bead needing two set of hands. If you both still have both. Seriously that was scary. I kept waiting for the bead bar to pop off the pivot under torque and nail whichever one had his head lined up with the bar at any given moment. I wasn't hoping it would happen but very worried cause that could cause a serious injury. Eye protection at all times. It only takes a second for a lifetime of regret. Tuck in loose clothing and better yet don't wear it. Overalls are best. Shirt tails can catch you up in a machine before you can say "Degloved" For your own sake, look it up! I'm sure you are smart guys but this was bad form and should be taken down after you watch a few other videos to see how it is done safely. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. The notch rings on the handle of the valve stem tool fit to the lip of the rim to give leverage to pull the stem in to the hole. Use the ring that gives a straight pull.

I have the coats 4040 I must say to you congratulations you were the first person on KZbin that I have seen use the tool to tighten down the center cone I don't think you're compressor is big enough it seems like the machine is not getting enough air you have the bottom bead breaker but you don't have enough air to make it work they need to run between 120 and 150 psi when you remove a tie you put the bar at the five o'clock position that way you get a full rotation and you do the same when you're putting it back on and lastly I hope this helps when you were using the tyre valve puller screw it onto the valve it swivels for a reason once you have it tightened up swivel it around put it on the rim and push down ever so slightly and it will pull the valve up you're doing it the wrong way you're making live too hard for yourself
