We're changing our original propane system for two good reasons. For one thing, our first propane tank had to be mounted nearly three feet deep, making it difficult to reach for refilling. Secondly, with a permanently mounted tank, our ONLY option for filling would be to drive into a propane filling station. With our new dual-tank set-up, not only are the tanks easy to access, but we could easily remove one or both tanks to be filled/replaced without even moving the bus! This will be a great added convenience since we'll be boondocking for two weeks (or more) at a time, in possibly remote locations.
After selling the original 12 gal propane tank (unused), Mike fabricated the "cage" for our tanks out of scrap metal from previous projects. Then we cannibalized our own BBQ grill as well as our "Campulance" stove for these two tanks!

About Us:
Hi! We are Mike & Kerry, the proud owners of a 1996 Bluebird rear engine (pusher), 40' school bus! We named her Bussy McBusface in honor of the RRS Boaty McBoatface travesty.
We're building a Tiny-Home-in-a-Bus for full-time living in the most adventure-friendly way possible! In other words, Bussy will not be parked in our driveway, waiting for weekend or holiday getaways... when we finish the build, we'll be packing everything we're keeping into the bus and driving away from this old house forever!
We plan to be boondocking the majority of the time, so you'll see that reflected in our choices throughout the build (100 gallon water tank, composting toilet, solar power system, etc). We'd love to have you stick around and follow us on our journey, throughout the Skoolie Build, and to Infinite Adventures Beyond!
Mike & Kerry
