Changing Region Code on Laser Blu-ray Players

I have always used the Laser BD3000 for my blu-Ray imports, and have had no issue over the last 10+ years. I wanted to update the machine and noticed that all mention of multi-region BD playback was curiously absent from all packaging (whereas it used to be a prominent feature), I bought the player regardless figuring that Laser had been encouraged to not advertise it. I set up the new player and the Region Change option in the menu was absent!! Thank heavens for this KZbin vid showing the new alternative method. I can only assume that the copyright powers that be tried to put the hammer on Laser. Thanks for the work-around!

I have a more recent Blu-BD3000 player that does not have this facility. All references to it have been deleted from the Owner's Manual. The Region Code applicable here is 3 (Australia), and I wanted to play a Canadian Region 2. It wasn't a problem with the old unit, where I made the changes descibed in this excellent presentation.

There are two methods in this video, did you try both? Blurays will always have either A, B or C region (or nothing for region free) labelled on them.

Well, it seems less clunky unlike the 3000 series, the only thing I can fault it on is nowhere in the manual does it mention the region unlock code that's needed for opening up the blu ray A B C area in menu, your videos helped with that lol. And it seems to also power up into main menu faster too unlike the 3000 series, I would say get it, it is a nice upgrade. @@ChrisMack056

Hi,On the Australian ebay listing was the following....Format AC-3,Blu Ray,Classical,colour,Dolby DTS Surround sound,HiFi sound,Multiple formats,NTSC,Surround,Wide screen. Region all regions Aspect ration 1.78:1. DVD release date 2008. I'm going nuts here!

infinite, change it any time and as many times as you like

Hi, i have the BD4000 what do I do? I’m so stuck EDIT: If anyone see's this, do this, it worked for me: Make sure there is no disc in the device. When turning on the device you should be on the main 'Laser' screen from here press the SETUP button on the remote. Once into the setup menu simply press the numbers '8520' on the remote and it will come up with the following page: From here you will need to select the correct region code so type in the corresponding number from the below options: 1 = Region A 2 = Region B 4 = Region C You will need to change this setting everytime you are swapping between different region discs.

The disc I am trying to play is a Bel Air Classique "Tchaikovsky Gala" I can't see any info on the region,but,gather from the cover the disc is from "Teatro Alla Scala" with information in English,French,and,Italian. Al other discs play fine,but,cannot get this to work on the new Laser????? Can you please help me?

i have the red model, and after letting some specific discs of a series play all the way through, it will automatically eject and say the disc is damaged, why is that? This is happening on discs that are scratch free and being used for the first time

I’m confused because my DVD from region 1 doesn’t play, it’s a 7 disc set and none of them work. It says the disc is damaged yet I bought it brand new and none of them have visible damage. I changed everything I could to try and make it suitable to the same region but every time “the disc is damaged”

@@Lasercoau I don't have any other multi region players sadly, i tried to just play normal blu rays and dvds that work in other one region players just fine but even with those discs i still got the same error message. Seems like no discs whether blu ray or dvd work no matter the region.

if your computer has a dvd rom download vlc player and see if it plays them, vlc is multregion for dvd

i brought blue rays they play ok but then i get blue ray discs that wont play it comes up unknown disc and so i find its the ridiculous firmware updates i cant find one for the blu bd3000 i can down load to pc then install onto a usb and update it that way all i found so far is you have to pay for it by card which i dont trust, this player is region free but ive read if you download firmware update you may loose the region free ability is that correct, i have more dvds than blue rays but i only buy blue rays cause i cant get a dvd of some movies so i have to try blue ray but get let down big time cause they cant play some blue rays and its very anoying
