Changing the belts on our claas 360 variant round baler

My New Holland has the staple splices on it. They recommend them because of the tight turn they make at the feed roller. I have a short piece of 1/4 plywood and four small c-clamps that I use to hold the splice together while I insert the wire, a lot easier than trying to hold them together and feed the wire through. Drilled a hole in it and hung it in the shed, so I always know where it's at, lol.

Worm Hole Farming well dad was holding them for me till that one he had Togo help my grandpa unload some cattle an work them but I’ll try that next time

Trevor Jones well I’d went that route but a new set from claas would’ve been $4000 an the plan is for this one tobe a backup next year an I didn’t wanna put that kinda money in it

So far they've worked good but we still got a lot left to bale

Our Lely Welger baler that is retired now has 160,000 bales on it and only has had one set of replacement belts. And that is silage bales .I think Vermeer sells them rebadged in USA as the 504Pro www.vermeer.com/NA/en/N/equipment/balers/504_pro

Belts are wore out after only 15000 bales? Iv had John Deere balers with well over 30k bales on original belts & still making excellent bales. Had new laces put in them but belts are original.

It had a piece of metal or something go threw the baler an it cut the belts that’s why they had to be replaced

Randy Love the original belts are endless belts with no laces so you can’t pin the old an new one together to pull the new one threw

Thank you. I understand. I have only replaced one belt on a jd. The belt shredded from a sharp rock that got in the pick up. That was a pain...
