Thank you so much for showing us how to do this. I have been asking around for the engine clutch actuator fluid and every one looked at me like an alien. I was mistakenly told it was the transmission fluid. Have been researching this for three weeks and finally found you. Very informative. Keep up the good work!

Good thinking, Kia. Here in Italy for my Ioniq most of Hyundai dealers are either oblivious that it needs to be checked and changed periodically or just shrug of and tells that "yeah we've checked it and it's still ok ,it doesn't need to be changed" and when you ask tell specifically to change it, they just roll their eyes up making some inarticulate guttural sounds an then after awhile call you back giving you an extortionate estimate of around 500-600 making you angry and unsure wether they mistook it for the gearbox oil change or they just shoot up the price making you abandon the idea .

Does fluid from the reservoir circulate? There is only one tube leading to the actuator. I suck out the fluid in my 2020 Niro every so often and replace it but it leaves me wondering if the fluid in the actuator ever gets replaced.

Do you know how to bleed the fit 2016 hybrid actuator
@xolodec

Man, you are cool like your videos. I've driven my KIA Niro for 45,000 km, and the fluid has never been changed. As I understand it, in this case, bleeding the clutch actuator is not needed. However, I have a problem: the upper white cap of my clutch actuator is cracked, and a part of it has a hole. I temporarily fixed the crack with temperature-resistant silicone. Will it be a problem to bleed the clutch actuator in this case?

Thanks for making these videos. I replaced the serpentine belt and the clutch actuator fluid at the same time. I sucked the fluid out of the reservoir, disconnected the hose from the reservoir and sucked out what fluid I can from the hose. I cleaned the reservoir and assembled everything back. Pinched and flicked the hose, trying to get air out of the hose. Now I have a check engine light with a code POAC4-hybrid powertrain control module. The drive was a bit jerky at first, then the check engine light popped up. Any clue what I should be looking for? Thanks in advance.

Bleed the clutch with a scan tool procedure 👍
@stevenguyen4790
@stevenguyen4790 Жыл бұрын
@@hybridsolutiondiagnostics I don’t have the scan tool to bleed. So the next best this was to disconnect the hose at the bottom and lit it purge out a bit and connect it back. Lower the the right side of the car, pinch and flick the hose in attempt to get the bubbles out. Car runs better now.
@stevenguyen4790
@stevenguyen4790 Жыл бұрын
Update: car ran better for a day then POAC4 along with another code popped up again. Had to take the car to a Kia shop to use their $10,000 computer to bleed/purge/open valves etc to get it working again. Once air is introduced into the clutch actuator, game over.

You don't mention bleeding the system and so if you have changed the fluid in the reservoir and only drains the delivery hose the hardest working part of the system is still filled with old tired fluid? If so this is just a cosmetic fluid change?

Kia Niro Phev. : There is a pause upon acceleration from a stop (unresponsive). Then the vehicle will lunge forward and make a loud noise. For both driver and passengers, it can be quite startling and feels as though the car has been hit from behind. It has happened about a dozen times in the las week months since first noticed. It seems that this may be a software issue related to the hybrid system - ( I’ve changed already gearbox, clutch, hybrid motor) and this still happening! Does someone know how to fix this bug? Thank you

@DoctorMSK600 5 ай бұрын
This has happened to me on my 19 PHEV. The motion was comparable to someone dropping the clutch and the vehicle would jerk forward with a thunking noise, usually in EV mode and always from stop, before continuing as normal. I took it to the dealership twice before they resolved it. My car only had 22K on it when they did the repair. Looking at my warranty repair ticket, it says "performed TSB TRA093 replaced gear oil". It also denotes the following parts: gasket - transaxle, gasket, and EV 70 W gear lubrication.

There is a factory recall for some vehicles, Kia installed the wrong transmission oil - I had the same issue in my 2019 Kia Niro Hybrid (Canada) - once the transmission oil had been replaced with the correct oil the problem went away! Hope the transmission wasn't damaged when it was slipping and causing the sever jolt/bang noise!
@raoulutube
@raoulutube Ай бұрын
@@spontaneousl2203 @hybridsolutiondiagnostics I have a 2017 Kia Niro (NY, USA). I have 67K mils on it. The jolt/bang noise started happening 6 months ago. I took it to the dealer service center and because it doesn't happen all the time, they did not experience the problem on the test drive. On my 3rd time though , I insisted to accompany the technician on the test drive. Nothing was happening when he drove it. I kept on telling him that it only happens when accelerating from a stop position. So I asked that I drive it. Unlike the technician, I just sampled it from a stop position and kept on doing it that way until the problem happened. The long and short of it is that because it does not happen 70% of the time, they cannot do anything like replace the clutch or transmission under the 10 year drivetrain warranty. I called Kia customer service who eventually talked to them but nothing changed and I will have to drive it that way until it happens 70% of the time -- by that time, I suspect the clutch and transmission will have to be replaced. Unfortunately, Kia dealership service centers here in NY are either lazy, clueless, lack training, or all three. @hybridsolutiondiagnostics Thanks to this video and comments, I finally have some idea on how to fix it but I would have to do it myself because of the reasons I just stated above. "TSB TRA093 is a bulletin that outlines a procedure for inspecting and replacing the transmission oil in certain 2019-2020 Niro (DE HEV/PHEV) vehicles with a 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). These vehicles may experience a shift impact or intermittent noise when starting after a complete stop. The shift impact may feel like a "clunk", "shift shock", or other abnormal symptom." (found on a KIA forum). So it sounds like I have to replace the transmission fluid myself so it is done correctly or pay to have it done somewhere else. Probably the later because I have no clue how to do it properly and being 67 years of age, I don't think it have working body to do it. @hybridsolutiondiagnostics Do you have a video on how to do this? Thanks, Raoul

Ar Audio audio feellin dizzy.. but hey your going to think iam a nutter " what! :( haha " but seeing all those reservoirs an there circular lids... you know those reggae fella's that wear those slightly fluffy hair bands you buy in a packet of multiable of variable colours all just 1 colour hopefully haha years ago you had air breather that had oil pans within the filter housing an small engines require the padded air filter to be slightly damp with light oil to catch the fine dust... if you applied these hair bands over the lids once fitted slightly damp with light oil this would almost stop the introduction of fine dust around the lid seal an also fine dust getting into the reservoirs from heating up an cooling down forming a suction or expansion , yes you might get natural settlement from in the lines from wear but just a thought were some small engine companies still use this idea but this is made from foam, just a little extra thing to look after your customers cars.

This is not the proper way to change clutch fluid for the Kia Niro 2019,,, especially if the car is still under warranty…… you have to unplug is from under the car… to drain the parts completely,,,, add the dot4 oil ,,,, plug the computer ,,,, he will equilibrate the oil between the parts and valves,,,, then vibrates to remove the air,,,, you should change the oil every 20000km ,,,,in hard contition,,, (Canada) read the manual,,,,,

It may not vibrate, but it sounds like it, I should have said ´´perform the air bleeding using the GDS / KDS.´´ like in the workshop procedure. My first language is not english,,,, and I am not a mechanic,,,, but I know how to follow and read the workshop manual. Thanks for the comment… but it’s still sounds like a vibration, I am at 65000km and did it myself 3 times.
