Cheap homesteading is changing the fuel pump on a Hyundai Accent. This is one of the easiest cars to change the fuel pump in you don’t have to remove the fuel tank. You can remove the fuel pump through the backseat of the car. It is the same repair for all the years.2006,2007,2008,2009,2010,2011,2012,2013 2014.

Awesome video! How did you know that the pump was bad. I have the same car and it shut off while I was driving and won’t start now. Lately when I fill up it car has a hard time starting I’m wondering if this is the issue.

Did you replace your fuel pump and what issues were you having? My car won't rev past 3000 rpm and recently it required press gas pedal to turn it on. I think it's the fuel pump.

I ended up changing the pump and it still did it. It ended up being the purge valve I change the purge valve and it was all good

Hey Pete I was able to succesfully change my fuel pump assembly thanks to this video but have been having issues with my hyundai accent throwing a p0496 code ive seen your other video on how to change the purge valve and was able to do that succesfully but still getting the dreaded p0496 code... one thing i just remembered when changing the fuel pump assembly is when tightening the 8 mm bolts back up i noticed a few of them were freely spinning after tightening as much as i could. could that cause a leak in the evap system? thanks in advance

good advice/demonstration. I too wanted a Spectra Premium pump but its made in Canada and no longer in inventory down here in the lower 48. Did you ave a problem though with the circular rubber gasket that came with it? I got stuck with a pump from Mexico and the sealing gasket was triple ribbed and impossible to line up with the new pump and existing hole. I used the old one instead. Good video.

I have a 2010 accent GS 2 door. My car won't start after I fuel up. Whether it's from a 1/4 ,1/2 3/4 of a tank. Putting any fuel in the tank causes this to happen. I have to floor it and put it in drive and take off . Then about 15 seconds after driving my car stays on and I can stop and restart the engine with no problem. Any idea of what you think this could be?

There can be two things the fuel pump or the suction control valve. You probably should start off with the suction control valve it’s the cheapest. And that is What happens when you stop to get fuel And then it won’t start. Hope you get a fixed

I was having a fuel smell after fill-up and an evap leak. Pretty sure it was the pump leaking. Took it to the shop to get the work done, part was about 80 to 180 dollars.... just got a quote for 800... insane... it's a 1 hour job... I must look like a suckered or something... insane.. if he said 500 I'd be cool but 800... no problem I'll just do it myself...

It is a pretty simple job except a little messy. you have to make sure that you have a container ready to put the fuel pump in to take it out of your car. Or it will smell like fuel for a long time. Thanks for watching.

I was surprised there was no replacing of the fuel filter as most of my suppliers will not warranty a new pump unless a new filter is replaced at the same time

Herbert Norkus The filter in this model is included in the sending unit. The external one is only for the early 2005 and before, which should be located above the sending unit off to the side.

The other thing that can cause that is the Purge Control valve. It is a small valve that is on the line to your canister.Hope you get to work

Although I didn’t change the whole assembly like you, I just did the motor by itself. Do you think that’s the problem? I’m not too sure if the direct pressure and hoes got clogged somewhere

I changed the purge control valve, still the same, but it’s only does it once, and then after that it starts

It ended up being the purge valve. I First change the pump it seems like a lot of people had that same issue with the pump. In Hindsight I would’ve change the purge valve first. Have a good one man
