Spiffing video! The marches played were, 1) The Blackthorn (The Star of St. Patrick) 2) Action Front (Klar Zum Gefecht) 3) Guards Parade 4) Sarafand 5) General Mitchell 6) Colchester Castle

Absolutely wonderful! Please name the Dm. Trombones are as awesome as ever. One of these days someone is going to be a wee bit brave and put a little wiggle in their walk when they play Colchester Castle. Hope I’m still alive when that day comes. Bless all of you!

Very nice to see the bands at healthy sizes again... I seem to recall a point in time that they were marching only four abreast.

Guards bands have never been four across, only for the birthday parade and beating retreat. However, they will be five across on the Troops In the future.

Love the vids and music thanks. Quick question: why, as the Guards are leaving the barracks, do one or more Guardsmen run from the rear of the troop to the front, at the trot? Then return to the rear on entering Windsor Castle? Thanks from Cornwall.

As far as I'm aware its to provide an escort to the officer at the front. If you notice they walk either side of him.
@bugler753 жыл бұрын
On a full guard the Officer would be carrying the Battalion Colour (flag) and this is the escort to defend the colour rather than the Officer. Although the Colour isn’t carried here they still have the Escorts come out. I did ask why we did this even if no Colour was being carried and no one could give me an answer other than « we always do it » 😊

Great video but you can’t not be in front of the band when they are playing General Mitchell, the trombones are the best part.
