Tip, put tape on the tip of the pliers to prevent damage to the panel. 😊

Is there anything unusual or different about installing a Metropolix/Atlantix panel?

I recommend that you take great care with the light pipes (the long plastic cylinders above the LEDs) when removing the Metropolix panel. Sometimes it helps to put some tape from the back side to keep them in place in the new panel. We're prototyping our panels for the Atlantix at the moment, but it seems to be pretty straightforward. There is a little washer that sits under the one screw in the panel, make sure it doesn't roll away. Also the nubs on the sliders are ON there, really tightly, I recommend a steady hand and an IC puller or similar.

I absolutely hate replacing the panels. there just isn't a proper way to unscrew the screws. too risky to mess up your original panel..

We are looking at a potential solution to make it less likely to scratch the panels, but I can't promise anything yet. It can be challenging for sure, and you need to be super careful not to slip with a sharp pair of pliers that are not really built to grab on to the nuts. ALM and Intellijel-type nuts are the hardest. There are special tools out there for the Intellijel ones, from Thonk, but I think they are not in stock.
